Wilson scores a goal and takes a penalty on the same play. Cannot recall ever seeing that in 40 some yrs
Too bad he didn't rip his ACL in the process.

@Tomas

You're still Czech, right?
:D
Incidentally, I am very close to a "half-time" date, defined as 50% of my life spent in the US (i.e. with the principal US address)...
If so, little advice on the pronunciation of Chytil...seems like English-speaking announcers are just leaving the "c" off, leaving us with "Heet-il" ...your thoughts, if you care to opine...?
This one is a little tough. "CH" in Czech (similarly to German, Scandinavian languages, and others...) is pronounced as "KH" in English - but as close to 'one sound' as possible (i.e. not distinct K followed by H). Basically, it's a "breathe-out" like sound, with no tongue positioning.

So, if that made sense, the pronunciation goes

KHYH-tihl

Every Czech word has the main accent on the first syllable. Both syllables are short (so no heee-).

Even that gives you the second best pronunciation, because "T" followed by "I" gets "soft-T" sound which is similar to "TJ" if "J" gets pronounced as in "Jagr", but that's just too much info

Chytil (which means "Caught" i.e. past tense of "catch") is quite a common Czech name. Check the pronunciation here around 0:10 ("Pavel Sustr from Chytil corporation"):

Excellent. Thanks as always, Tomas. No one gives me such thorough pronunciation lessons, appreciate it. :thumb:

I'm kind of shocked that Joe Thornton has 400 career goals. Granted, he's 55 and has played 2400 games, but has he ever scored more than 11 goals in a season?

Little known fact. Jumbo has literally never shot a puck. Every goal accredited to him, he’s passed it to the back of the net.

Wasn't there one season recently where he had all EN goals or something...?

Ha, 2014-15 he led the league in ENG. And 2016-17 he didn't score a goal against an actual human in net until February.

Yes. Not available to the public because it's still useful proprietorially. Some of the bloggers trying to make it may have some small data. But this is tracked by NHL clubs and private firms, but isn't released. Passing made and received...variations abound.

Was listening to the Chiclets podcast for Brooks Orpik.... he said Ovechkin eats the worst out of any professional athlete he's ever known, and that he drinks Dr. Pepper during games.. like 5 or 6. He said if you grab the wrong water bottle on the bench, you are getting dr. pepper.

Also said Ziggy Palfy would chirp Mario over everything, and that to get into Ryan Malone's wedding you had to get a tattoo and have a shot of Jager. I wonder how serious the tat part was....

Not that I would be surprised...a lot of hockey players like to party...but I've never heard that about PM either...at least not in such a prominent way...

I've heard a lot of Neal stories. I think one included P Mart, but IIRC he was there to make sure Neal didn't do anything too dumb.
