Tell them that if the Caps win four more, then they might have the right to be mentioned in the same breath as the Pens. Ditto with Ovechkin needing two more MVPs (as well as an Olympic gold).

Yeah you know I really didn’t care to watch it happen, but I still got chills watching Ovechkin with the Cup. It always something special to watch a player who never won finally get his chance to skate with it.

And the fact that Sid and Malkin have already done it three times, the first time coming almost 10 years before Ovechkin, makes it much easier to stomach.

Sid and Jake finish tied for fourth in playoff scoring despite not playing for a month. **** lack of scoring depth.

Based on internet reaction you’d have thought Ovechkin LeBron’d the Caps to a championship.

So did Washington ever extend Trotz? If not - what are those negotiations going to look like now?

Happy for Holtby. Lost his starting job, only to win it back in the playoffs and win the Cup. And he supposedly is great community guy off the ice. Happy for Backstrom, too.

And while Oshie's tribute to his father was touching, not happy for him. Or the rest of the team. And Wilson can rot in Hell.

This really sucks. The Eagles winning the SB pretty much prevented me from enjoying anything NFL-related all summer, and now this will do the same to hockey.

We had the lead twice going into the third period. Mental blunders crapped those games away.

i don't think we chocked, Trotz made a very smart coaching adjustment in the middle of the series (forget which game it was). It didn't completely shut us down but was enough to give the capitals the advantage in the series.

As much as people hate the capitals, you have to give them credit because they kept bouncing back and their guys got over the hump of not winning the big games. (this was the crack against us too until we went on the run 2 years ago) Also i had no problem watching the best goal scorer of his generation win a stanley cup with the team that draft him and he has given everything too.

The whole who is a better play sid or ovie was settle a long time ago. Both are generational talents who leads their teams to a stanley cup but sid will go down as the best player from this generation and its not even close.
