God damn it...now I have to sit through this ****** Caps goal in this ****** **** game...****

Image

Here's where the linesman waves it off, at the hash mark...because the puck is not moving fast enough to make it to the end line...

Image

Here's where Coburn addresses the puck with his stick on the ice...the puck isn't even to the top of the crease yet...

Then he chips the puck around to no one...feet before the icing line...

The linesmen had a good game...it's the guys in the orange arm bands that decided to go all throwback thursday on us and set this game to May 21, 2003...

Tampa looked outmatched in this game. It didn't help that Washington was allowed to run guys over and over again.

The charging/holding/interference was full-blown last night. It's like the officials get caught up in the rabid Caps crowd and completely lose themselves.

Realllllllllllllllllllllly hoping TB puts it together back home

He was, and he was still the second best goalie. The tending on display night was the best duel in these playoffs since some of those early Quick vs Fleury games or it might have been the standalone best of this postseason...

How is Ryan McDonagh only 28 years old? I thought he was at least 33.

I’ve been thoroughly underwhelmed by Tampa in this series. Makes the Pens loss in R2 sting more.

I still think the Pens have the best team in the league still. They were just worn the hell out. The only team roster wise that compares is Tampa because of their depth, D, and goaltending.....but throughout these playoffs, I think Geno plus Sid (not even including Kessel) > Stamkos plus Kucherov

Last night those two were absolutely bullied by the Caps.

Ripping off four straight would've been really impressive. I'm okay with TB beating them in 7.

Yea they are. But from my limited hockey knowledge, they seemed to really struggle going east to west to break down the Vegas press. They are fast and huge, but seem to struggle when they aren’t going north and south. And to me, their D doesn’t move the puck as well as I thought before the playoffs.

Should the NHL have the Pens and Caps redo their series in case it was a big fluke?

No disrespect to the Caps, I'm a firm believer that Washington beating them is a huge fluke and robs the Pens of truly accomplishing what their capable of. I've spent the last few days in pure disbelief and it just doesn't make sense to me. I've spent the entire regular season watching the Pens play great hockey it's just not fair.

If the Pens lose again I will face that the Caps deserved the win, but I am just 100% sure it was a fluke and does a big disservice to the Pens and the NHL.

I still can't believe someone actually posted that nonsense after the Preds swept the Blackhawks.

I too know ths reference.

Anyways...Nashville has the best roster, IMO. They lack high end forwards, but they can roll out 4 wicked lines. And their D is just not real life.

But we still have gamers. And Sid. And Geno. And they don’t.

I just took a gander at the all-time high R/hockey posts. Thought this one would be higher, but then I can't remember if it was a comment or self post.

In any event, the top two posts of all-time in r/hockey are about Ajit Pai and Donald Trump. No community is immune.

I've got a feeling that whoever wins tonight loses to Vegas.
