They were using him to dump another contract...his other winger...Panthers really didn't need Marchessault's speed this year. Nahhhh

The game wasn't going to start. So it's either sit there and stare at the screen playing "find the testicle" and doing nothing for 15 minutes...or get entertained...in Las Vegas...lay up choice...
Everything is doing great there, it should be celebrated...or just not maligned...in my opinion...
It's a stretch to call that entertainment.

Meh, I mean, I'm a hockey guy...so you could play no music, have no lasers, no towels, none of that, and I'd still go and love it...maybe you're a hockey guy too and feel that way...that's fine. You're a city, with no other sports teams, given little chance for this to work and the investment is in the hundreds of millions...I'd stop at absolutely nothing to make it an enjoyable experience for as many people on the fence as I can...there is so much more competing for an entertainment dollar in Vegas, you'd be silly not to do some ****...
This is like the politics thread. You don't need to waste your time trying to commit the 10% already on your side or the 10% that will never see it your way. Work on that 10, 20, 25 whatever percent that could break either way. That rich, creamy nougat is what makes or breaks this business in a gate-driven league...if that melts away into nothing, you're out of business...if you get that deliciousness, you're golden...
I had a blast there...and I saw New Jersey play in the middle of the regular season haha

Man, you cannot have that happen the second you start feeling good about yourself...bad goal at a bad time...
That said, that awkward tip is 13 for Scheifele...the record is 19 (Leach and...Kurri (?) if memory serves)...ya know, he might have 11 and a half games left...

Kyle Connor is gonna be one hell of a player (next year, too) but he needs a little bit o' "simple" to his game...comes in on a rush and just moves himself into useless ice in the opposite corner without a shot to show for it...and then can't get a puck in deep with Enstrom-Buff out of gas...and now you need 4 on Marc-Andre Fleury to win...I think that's happened, what, once all playoffs...? In like the longest game of the playoffs too...?

Yeah, the Jets have the best roster in the NHL just about...
And Buff, bud, those are professional athletes...you're not supposed to be able to drag them away with one in each hand like that...that caused some audible laughter in my living room here haha...dude is a monster...

I don't even think Guentzel had made it in college yet as this age...Laine already has a season with more goals than Jake has in his career...
Laine isn't crushing it, that's fine...but I mean, the kid can score from almost anywhere on the rink with the flick of a wrist...I can't remember the last time I saw an 18 year old be able to beat a goalie from 35 feet with a flick of the wrist in a long time...

I don't think I'd really come down all that hard on Laine. I'm sure that teams have been catering their defensive needs to shade him whenever he's on the ice because they know the type of talent he possesses. If you feel Laine is overrated by his performance thus far, what does that make Scheifle in your eyes? I'd imagine that a lot of the looks he has been getting is because of the defense's attention on Laine. Plus, I don't think Laine and Guentzel are similar in their type of play. Guentzel's a grinder and gets garbage goals and from what I've seen of Laine, he's more of a perimeter guy like Ovechkin.

I'll take it haha...the guy is playing at about 70% at best with the back injury he's been carrying since late in the year...
One thing he does, if nothing else...he gives you an A scoring chance off of any won faceoff in the attack zone...not a lot of guys offer that today...even standing still, he's a threat...

Oh, if the point was "he's not a top 3 sniper in the history of the game" then yes, I agree...
I'm extra cautious in these situations...I can count the number of people on one hand on this board who watch Winnipeg even semi-regularly...so I just want to make sure no one gets confused about him being absolutely filthy good at hockey...even if he's not as good as Bossy...
