I don’t completely understand the Nutting-esque salary dump in Ottawa. They’ve had a bad season this year, but they lost in G7 of the ECF last year and have most of that team signed through next season. Have they lost all faith in that group? Are the teams financial issues that severe?

And yea, if they want teams interested in EK to be willing to take on Bobby Ryan at $7.25mm through 21-22 well then they better be ready to lose EK for a mid round draft pick.

Hijacking thread for fantasy advice. Glad you're cold on Mrazek because I had been trying to acquire him but could not get it done. My G situation is dire (Halak, Anderson, Condon, JFB on my pros; Soderstrom, McIntyre, DeSmith, Coreau on my farm), but my skaters are awesome. Setting Andy aside, do you think any of those guys or Cam Ward, Jimmy Howard, Scott Wedgewood can be NHL starters?

I added him in all leagues where I had Price/Holtby...this should win me a championship because the rest of the team is a wagon...

Drew McIntyre?? That’s rough. I think Detroit is going to let Howard take the wheel. He’s older than you think (32 I believe) so don’t have him be a longer term solution. Coreau is not a quality NHL starter in my opinion.

Yeah, I have never liked Howard's skill and Coreau seems not good. Ugh. I just need to find a starter out of nowhere is what it comes down to. Was hoping Wedgewood could be the option (25, couple good AHL years, decent pedigree, potentially in a situation where Raanta walks and AZ is left stabbing at a Hutton or Howard or Mrazek, etc.).

Ahh. Got it. He’s Gothberg in my mind. He’s worth keeping if it doesn’t put you out. He’s been...ok...in his NHL games.
