Source of the post Many Czech fans actually like mocking Mrazek for his propensity to let easy goals in.
He'll fit in well in Philly.

Czech fans didn't seem too unhappy with him when he was hamming up the 2012 WJCs ;) ...but he's a defector of sorts, having jumped to the Ottawa 67s...so there's that. And whatever they tried to do in Detroit to "calm him down" from a goaltending perspective has turned him into a player that is not above the board (I mean, come on, you lost your job to a 35 (?) year old man that still goes by "Jimmy" AND has two first names)...I think he needs a new goaltending coach for starters, one that gets him...I'm not sure if Philadelphia is the place for that considering they don't have athletic goalies (that are healthy, Stolarz has been hurt for seemingly ever) and the last one they did have (Bobrovsky) they couldn't make heads or tails of...

So I'm not sure how this is gonna really break...in the span of 2012 to 2014, there were few U23 goalies in the world that I wanted more than Mrazek...now, he's given away for a song...goalies...

Mrazek's biggest problem is between his ears. Philly will not help that.

Having playing in Ottawa67s has nothing to do with the negative feelings, I think. In fact, I saw everybody - fans, the media - rooting FOR Mrazek as he was rising through the ranks of Detroit organization. It was seriously only after he made it, and was named the started, when people started slowly realizing that he is an a-hole based on what was coming out of his mouth.

I am actually a little bit surprised by the extent of this negativity because (a) I always thought goalies are crazy self-centered egomaniacs in general and (b) there are, IMO, far clearer examples of Czech players who proved themselves to be really s-ty individuals (Jake Voracek, for example).

That's funny...I've never met anyone over here that hasn't been enamored with Jakub Voracek...all the folks in Halifax loved him, I haven't come across anyone that didn't say that they like him and how much he loves the game...I wonder if that's changed in the last little bit...

HC@N opens by talking EK to Tampa - which is according to insiders is "a real possibility", the question being is Ottawa willing to take but pieces from TB's deep prospect pool, or, would they also demand a Point or Shoshnikov?
IMO, what's significant about this info is that MacClean is now convinced (literally an overnight change of mind) Karlsson will NOT return to Ottawa. I tend to ignore Kipper but MacClean...he's not Mr. Hyperbole like the former.
So,EK in Tampa perhaps? Yikes

He may love the game, but also...this:

His lady was 7 months pregnant at the time, and less than 1 week before the tabloid pics, they were all smiling at Springsteen's concert (https://twitter.com/jachobe/status/770860350220689408 )
Incidentally, he reconciled shortly before the birth of his son, then he repeated (!!) something similar the following summer. Finally, they broke up this January(?)...

Tampa getting EK could be huge - I don't see how it happens this year - but in the off-season I see it coming. I don't know how someone like EK is moved at the deadline with a year remaining on his contract. That's such huge value teams would trade so much that they'd want to rebuild in the draft (what picks they had left from the trade) and free agency.

Elliotte Friedman@FriedgeHNIC
Hearing LA working on a deal to get Rieder/Wedgewood from ARIZ. Believe the return involves Kuemper, and there could be an extension with the Coyotes as part of it for him

Darcy Kuemper is getting a two-year extension from ARI as part of this trade from LAK. AAV on Kuemper extension is $1.85M. Tobias Rieder and Scott Wedgewood going to LA, as @FriedgeHNIC and @craigsmorgan reported.
ARI retains 15 per cent of Rieder contract. Rieder on final year of contract with AAV of $2.225M. RFA at season’s end.

That's a good get for the Kings...Rieder has had a horrific season, but it's a quick two-way player, very smart. Kuemper is a replacement level player that I guess, kinda, maybe acts as insurance if Raanta leaves on a team with no hope, no ideas and no ambition to succeed...which is the ship that Chayka seems content on running...analytically, of course...

I'm excited to see when he trades Max Domi for like Samuel Morin and Nicolas Aube-Kubel or for like Mark Pysyk and Nick Bjugstad or something...

It's a shame we have two starting goalies, because that seems like an easy, easy play for Rob Blake...I know Kuemper has been helpful to the Kings this year, I don't want to under play that, but I mean, the guy is not a starting goalie for my money...or for anyone's, as he takes a 2-year deal for peanuts, or walnuts at best...

Neither Rick Nash nor Michael Grabner will play for #NYR tonight. Team closing in deals, so right now, this is just precautionary.
One of the TSN guys said that McDonough could actually be dealt, too.

I wouldn't be averse to making a connection between Boston dumping a roster winger for a pick and then Grabner and Nash being held out tonight...that seems likely...they've been tied to Nash, Grabner and Maroon for sure...
