ohhhhh i forgot about this anthem thing in Philly. I am very vested in their failure now. This is an important day.

Come on Rangers...I'd love to see Florida pull this off...even without Barkov, who might not be good to go...

Rags beef it on an open net. Flyers score on a funny bounce. That kind of day then...

It sounds so bad, but I can't stand it when the Flyers do the Lauren Hart/Kate Smith "God Bless America" thing.

You'd think the Rangers would love to play spoiler, but they seem not to be interested that much.

I want to see a tie-breaker game and Florida prevail. :D

Rangers are putting up little to no resistance.

It's not like they don't have talent remaining on that team. At least make Elliott's life a little difficult.

Same. We should've known better.

I miss Giroux being overrated.

I'll endure to the end of the 2nd, but this is painful to watch.

Edit: Nope, I'm out. Sigh.

Pens-Flyers, bring it on.
I thought you cared about my emotional well-being.

Now, I know the truth.

:)

Well, onto rooting for WSH and CBJ later.

Brian Elliott, riding on a fine Arab charger, coming to the Flyers' emotional rescue.

Right now we'd play the Flyers, which is what the Jackets and Devils want, as both teams plan on sitting their stars tonight. Both would have to lose in regulation.

Soooo... I'm hearing that the Flyers are now destined to win the Cup because of
--> the Eagles' SB and Villanova's NCAA wins, which totally make Philly the City of Champions (it's a special year)!
--> Giroux's first HT in such a special, playoff-clinching game (did you *hear* the crowd? They sense the specialness. And don't forget Kate Smith--today was a special occasion),
--> Elliott's return (*now* there's great goaltending; what a special time for him to return,)
--> No one thinks they can do it (which will make winning all the more special)!
--> Special kids like Provorov and Patrick,
--> The Pens can't pull off another win, especially against this SPECIAL Flyers team who's been under everyone's radar. Edit: And Murray's showing he sucks.

I'm gathering that this is all so special.

I'm accepting volunteers to take my phone and computer away from me until the playoffs start--by force, if necessary.

Yes, if CBJ and NJ lose, then Flyers it is.
If CBJ win, then we play them.
If CBJ lose, and NJ wins, then we play NJ.

No wait, what's the first tie-breaker? Total wins or ROW?

No wait, what's the first tie-breaker? Total wins or ROW?
ROW

https://www.nhl.com/standings/2017/wildcard

If two or more clubs are tied in points during the regular season, the standing of the clubs is determined in the following order: The fewer number of games played (i.e., superior points percentage). The greater number of games won, excluding games won in the Shootout. This figure is reflected in the ROW column. The greater number of points earned in games between the tied clubs. If two clubs are tied, and have not played an equal number of home games against each other, points earned in the first game played in the city that had the extra game shall not be included. If more than two clubs are tied, the higher percentage of available points earned in games among those clubs, and not including any "odd" games, shall be used to determine the standing. The greater differential between goals for and against for the entire regular season. NOTE: In standings a victory in a shootout counts as one goal for, while a shootout loss counts as one goal against.
