Simmonds mugs Thompson. Thompson does nothing... NOTHING. Just stands there. Simmonds punches Thompson and finally Thompson gives a little shove back. Result? BOTH are sent off. Face-off remains in Ottawa zone and Flyers score with 2 seconds remaining
Prior to that Ott player has puck on stick and rather than Murphy it out of the zone he ices it.

Leicester City-esque so far. Actually, even more improbable (to date).

"Marchand walks a fine line."

That's funny stuff right there, Katherine. I don't care who you are.

It's funny because there are guys who actually do walk that line. Theyre mostly big guys. Tom Wilson for one. Lots of his hits look like they should be illegal but then you look closer and get pissed that they're clean.

Marchand, however, has no concept of the line. He's either a skilled, benign little manlet, or he's blatantly cheap shotting. Very binary.

He's totally unrepentant as well. He doesn't even pretend to feel bad about his cheap shots causing injuries. At least Matt Cooke learned his lesson and said the right things even if it took a little while.

I had to chuckle when i saw the Rangers-Bruins boxscore and saw that R. Nash scored for both teams.

Lundqvist chased from the net again last night. Someone on Twitter mentioned that's happened 5 time this season, 3 of those coming in the past 6 games. Yow.

Please take a moment to marvel at this shot. He shows shot, shows shot, shows shot, then takes shot off, only to snap an absolute bb long side off the pipe and in

^I would speculate that gif highlights the difference between talent and elite talent. I'm certain there are other skills which parse the difference but that's a shot you don't see everyday.

his release told me it was a pass. lies!

so what the hell makes a guy shoot hard anyways. size and strength appear to have nothing to do with it. known 3rd grader jake guentzel is a pretty good example.

There was a kid name of Kevin White who played baseball at Presbyterian about 15 yrs ago. White was 6' tall and didn't weigh a 130 lbs. Could shower in the drain pipe etc. Watched him play in a collegiate wooden bat league and he hit (I'm pretty sure) 20 hr's in 40 games - many of them of remarkable distance. According to the experts he was able to generate a swing speed that one of those experts called 'extraordinary'. What this story has to do with Eichel is nearly a non sequitur in that Eichel is a solidly built athlete and I'm unable to articulate what I'm getting at (which probably means it's not worth getting at)...so I'll just stop here :P

Isles down 5-2 with 7:00 left, get a 5-minute major PP and score *4* goals on it to take a 6-5 lead. Then give up a 6th attacker goal with under a minute left to tie it up. Isles win in OT when Nelson pots a hat trick goal. Barzal with 5 assists in the game. As usual, the over in an Isles games comes through again.
