8x8 for a player that is probably around 60-70 points for a ceiling? That's insane, right? I like the player, but am I totally missing something?

Yes, accurately portraying his ceiling.
No, I don't know that I can fully justify the deal. But RyJo is a whale of a player...Getzlaf Jr.

He's also the only thing the Preds have in the way of a top-6 C.

Gotta keep that 16 seed core together at any cost. I'm sure they'll be the western powerhouse everyone expects.

There's a million ways to go with that comment...but, it worked for LA off of their 2012 run...

I'm more concerned about Rinne coming back and being as good as he was...you don't know what you're gonna get from him these days...that said, Saros looks good...and their defense is stacked...

I'm not concerned at all, they can finish last for all I care.

And Daley has a NMC. I can't figure out why either side signed that contract. Impressive. How are the Red Wings 3 million over the cap?

Given some of the contracts that have been going out, that's a great deal. His star is trending upward, and he's entering his peak. I really think this compares well with a contract like Kuznetsov's, in terms of value.Niederreiter: 5 years, $5.25 mil AAV.
