Source of the post Brian Campbell retires.
Hmph, wasn't really expecting that quite yet...but good for him. His career really jumped out of the funny pages and onto the front page right after the lockout opened up the game for him...uncharacteristically, he'll probably be remembered best for absolutely lobotomizing R.J. Buttberger in overtime...

Just in time for what should have been his stylistic comparable Derrick Pouliot to step into the league... :face:

Seems like some pretty loose adjustments taking place...maybe just strictly points per game...? Fails to factor in power play benefits (even with Crosby, who played in a PP-friendly environment to start), roster size, ice time/usage/deployment particularly for the 80s guys...other factors abound. THN hasn't been relevant in some time, so I'm not entirely surprised...but didn't they have a whole month to develop a formula and instead just dummied up H-R's adjusted points disasterbockle...? Oink.

I've only sent one letter to the editors in my life and they (weekly arts paper) published it.

I'm a little more sold on Arvidsson than I am on Sheary (whom I do like, my only concern is his size and by extension durability), but if the latter were willing to sign a similiar deal ... seems like a fair proposition for both sides.

I'd have no interest in going 7 years for Sheary for virtually any amount of money. I don't say that because I don't trust him (I kinda do) but that's just not a "seven year player" for me...I'm not so sold on Sheary that I'm going long-term with him...I'd say even a fourth year is out of the question...it's super conservative but I'd rather risk the loss of a decent player than get hamstrung by a bad contract...

No. He doesn't have an agent. He just got married and is probably honeymooning. Philadelphia has shown interest but Markov seems to be going at his own pace...

Markov wanted a raise.

Philly is dumb enough to provide said raise.

If it serves as a detriment to Philly, then I approve.

Will Butcher is not an interesting prospect last time I saw him...but he said that he wasn't gonna sign with the Avs months ago I think...it's just that the deadline is coming up for that (8/15)...
