Awwwwww yeah... season starting up this week.

Local favorites both are getting some votes in the rankings with PSU coming in at 23rd with 63 votes and RMU coming in at 32nd with 6 votes. Preseason means very little to nothing, but it's still good to see their names there.

I've got box tickets to the Nittany Lion's games vs Alaska Anchorage in November and The last home game of the regular season vs Wisconsin. I'll probably grab tickets to a few more throughout the season.

The only thing that I'm not looking forward to is the three rivers classic as PSU won't be there... hopefully RMU and PSU will meet at some point this season (playoffs... PLAYOFFS?!?!)

Anyways, enjoy the hockey folks! Get out to some games, they're a ton of fun.

Haha... I'm cheering for RMU, I really am. I'd love to have two good/great hockey programs in the area to cheer for. I don't know much about RMU, but I really like the direction that PSU has gone and continue to go the past few years.

PSU players to watch this year:

Rookie goaltender Peyton Jones. Kid is 6'4" 210 lbs and has been named the starter. Typically most schools do a 2 goalie rotation as most games are back to back nights. We'll see how he holds up.

Sophomore forward Andrew Sturtz. Had a great freshman year, I hope he can follow it up.

Senior forward David Goodwin. Lead the team in points last season, should look to do the same this year.

Surprised by the early love for RMU. Graduated a ton of guys last season and have 10 incoming freshman. After getting a couple dominate years from Cody Wydo and then an excellent season from Zac Lynch, I'm not sure who the leader on this team is. Brady Ferguson is the top returning scorer (13g, 34 pts in 39 games), but he was fifth on the team last season. Overall RMU has lost five of their top six scorers from last season. Starting goalie Terry Shafer is also gone and Dalton Izyk was not great last season. I'm really interested to see how this season goes.

I never went to college, and now I work at Bobby Mo. I kind of made them my defacto college hockey team. :thumb:

BAH... was offered tickets to tonight's PSU game, but the wife doesn't want to go (I should say, we have a dog and she doesn't want to leave the dog home by himself all evening after we've been working all day) and all my friends moved away. I need to make friends with townies...

4-2 Nittany Lions losing going into the 3rd. Looks like St. Lawrence remembered who they were tonight.

I know the rankings mean absolutely jack right now, but I'm not sure I understand how St. Lawernce splits with PSU and up in the rankings and PSU goes down... Additionally Bowling Green and Denver get swept and are still ranked. I guess I'm more used to football ranking system.
