I've met Blash before and I know a lot of folks that know him...he's a good coach imo. I'm impressed that they're sticking by him after some mid-70s Capitals like seasons...I think it speaks a little bit to how tough it is to judge coaches just based on record and (general) nonsense like line combos...

I think Blashill is getting the benefit of the doubt from Yzerman. It's not like he's had a lot to work with in terms of the roster. Will be interesting to see how long that leash lasts though.

I came here to post the same thing! This article gives a few more details about how crazy the "New Rasputin" is. So, if Datsyuk has been his spiritual follower for 10 years...The source is questionable to say the least, but this is a hell of a headline.
