Talk about the Olympics nobody wants. All they need is a good bird flu outbreak to seal the deal.

So today I learned that the starting F for my old hometown Czech National Basketball League team is Garrett Kerr (http://www.basketbalsvitavy.cz/tym/hraci/garret-kerr ), the son of former Flyers All-Star Tim Kerr (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tim_Kerr).

Garrett actually happens to be the best rebounder of the Czech NBL last season...

The International Olympic Committee will be deciding to ban Team Russia from all sports for the upcoming Winter Olympics in Korea soon (Friday?). If Russians are indeed banned, it is expected KHL will not allow any of its players to participate (despite already budgeting a long break during the Olympics) as a retaliatory move.
I was reading about this a week or so ago. The IIHF will not allow them to block players from participating.

Mazanec would need waivers, not that that would be a stumbling block I imagine...interesting move...I had higher hopes for MM when I first saw him play years ago...

Saw this on Reddit....
Byfuglien, Burns, Letang, Karlsson, and McDonagh have a combined 3 goals in 118 GP this season.

Just noticed on goalies that are wearing white sweaters that they have orange tint straps on the chest protector. Does orange signify that they are NHL approved?

No. The orange is the graphic design on the Vaughn Velocity chest and arm protectors - which is the protective manufacturer of choice for most pro goalies.

Vaughn has been the front runner as far as protective equipment (chest/arms, pants, knee guards, cups) for a few seasons. Once Itech went the way of the dodo, it was really a mixed bag for a couple seasons - Reebok, CCM, Vaughn, even Warrior gave it a shot - but Vaughn really started taking over in...2013...maybe.

Matt Moulson (Buf) on waivers. It's possibly Pittsburgh that ended his NHL career...he simply doesn't belong in this league. Whether he makes five sheets or not...
