I thought Briere would have been a lot closer than 36th all-time with 258 GP. Six seasons out there, but 2.5 seasons worth of playing in the IHL and AHL mixed in.

258 GP puts Briere one game ahead of Bryzgalov and two ahead of Mike Sullivan.

My only memories of Chris Simon are him 2 handing Ryan Hollweg in the throat and stomping on Jarkko Ruutu with his skate

CTE?

His family confirmed he died by suicide in a statement released Tuesday night.

"The family strongly believes and witnessed firsthand, that Chris struggled immensely from CTE which unfortunately resulted in his death," the statement, provided by Simon's former agent, Paul Theofanous, on behalf of Simon's family, read.

If I remember correctly his post-hockey life wasn't going well. Bankruptcy, CTE, inability to work due to injuries. Looking at his hockeydb was interesting. Obviously most remembered as a Cap, but also as an Islander for some reason despite him barely playing there. I remember him as a Nordique (and part of the Lindros trade), but not with the Avs and certainly not a cup winner. Hawks, Rags, Flames, and Wild ring zero bells.
