I have no issues with Maurice. I think it's pretty adaptive to his roster. Panthers were playing a little bit of backyard ball, and their utilization/deployment was iffy...I think this is an upgrade. Bruno got murdered in the series vs Tampa. And they let Washington drag around too for longer than they were worth...

Shocked to see Brunette get canned, but Maurice is a top tier coach in my opinion. Maybe the top of tier two. It’s a blurry line.
Brunette really did crash and burn. Their special teams were an absolute train wreck in the playoffs and that’s a coaching issue 99 times out of a 100

According to a 2003 article in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Florida General Manager Rick Dudley attempted in four different rounds to draft Ovechkin, arguing that, if leap-year dates were taken out of the equation, Ovechkin actually would turn 18 four days before his recognized birthday and thus have been eligible for 2003.

Alfredsson, the Sedins, and Luongo to the Hall.
What exactly did Luongo do to earn it?

Longevity I guess? No cup (no cups in this year’s class, actually, right?) no Vezinas. Near the top in categories like games played, saves, shots against, that you organically get by playing for a long time.
Backstopped Canada to the 2010 Olympic Gold, that’s something.

Bobby Lu was very very good for a very very long time. He’s in for me without much consideration.

Luongo shouldn't be in

I remember when he entered the league, but I'd forgotten how good he was late into his career. Not sure why he isn't in there yet. Weird. The whole Hall is invalid until Alexander Mogilny gets in

Luongo is the one being questioned out of the four...? That's a little strange to me...

The only trophy in his case is a Jennings.
I'm not saying trophies are a be all, end all, but I guess I never really saw Luongo's stats as anything more than longevity.
And for the record, I'm not sure about Alfredsson either but Luongo stood out to me more.

Yeah, trophy counting is very binary...too reductive.
Luongo was one of the best goalies in the league for several years...and then had a late career resurgence to top it off.
2004: Second-Team AS, strong Vezina finish, 6th in Hart voting - he actually had the 2nd most first place votes for the Hart that year behind the winner Martin St. Louis.
2007: Second-Team AS, narrowly lost a Vezina to Brodeur, and would have won the Hart if not for Crosby's historic season...
2009: All but a 2nd place Vezina finish... 3rd in 2011
He has five gold medals in international competition, including two in best on best Olympics and a World Cup gold medal...
I mean, the accolades don't even really do it justice...he was an exceptional goalie for a long time, he spanned two distinct eras...and in case of a tie, it goes to a good guy...he's a good guy.

Anyone else watch the Avs/Wings Unrivaled show on ESPN? I thought it was good.
