To me, this is insane. Glad that it was the Caps who gave him that contract, though.

Only issue with that contract is the length. I doubt the caps will care about that when Ovechkin is in his waning years.

I don’t think there is a NMC involved, so that’s an option in the back half of the deal

According to CapFriendly, first 4 years have a 15-team NTL, last 4 years has a 10-team NTL.

I feel like the Caps are in the same position as the penguins, the end of the window is in sight, losing a guy like Carlson would basically end their chances.

For the first time in the 100ish-year long history of Bohemian/Czechoslovak/Czech hockey, the logo on the front of the national team jerseys will not be the official coat of arms (currently what my 4-year old calls the "ZOO picture", because it has 2 lions and 2 "birds"). The new Czech jerseys:

Ondrej Pavelec may not be the best goalie, but he seems to have the true ability to sum up the Czech public sentiment in just one sentence:

If you are going to have a guy wear his uppers for a photo shoot, have the wherewithal to crop his Hugo Boss jeans out.

That's just Czech business casual.

Yeah, the jeans are weird...you can't be athletic in jeans...Pavelec is correct...

The logo looks like the top half of a "What to do if someone is choking" poster...

That contract is front-loaded too, which makes him more movable once he is in his 30s. Fair deal, IMO.

Now imagine what Karlsson will get.

The "Czech consensus" is that the logo looks like:

To add insult to injury, Scania logo is actually an eagle *

Disrespectful number terrorist Joshua Ho-Sang changing from 66 to 26 because that old **** Lou Lam thinks low numbers and clean faces are what win championships.

Yup, all skaters wear a number under 30, no facial hair, I think he has limitations on social media too...old school. But he fixes his **** in his own way. For the first time ever I was actually near him on Saturday (did not have the balls to talk to him, afraid I'd be rolled up in a carpet and thrown in the East River)...the respect that guy commands, he can just take the air right out of a room if he wanted...it's something else.

I don't agree with his oddball stances on stuff like facial hair, but while he comes off as a hard ass, he's actually a really nice guy.

I'm quite interested to see how he changes up the Isles uniforms too. Lou doesn't like team logos or manufacturer logos on the front of pants. typically he goes with manufacturer name up the side of the leg.

Good lord. You'd think the Isles have enough problems that the placement of logos on pants would be low on his list of concerns.

you'd think but it wasn't for the Leafs.

I mean has Lou been successful enough recently to demand all kinds of changes? He only helped get the Leafs to the playoffs, they didn't do anything else.

The Leafs went from a joke to a highly desirable place to me with a great structure...Babcock, Shanahan, etc. the team on the ice is a product of that. They are strong at every position. The organization has done a complete 180 from the Jeff Finger days...
