This all star TNT crew of Gretzky, Carter, Bissonette…. What a line, eh?

I haven't seen a TNT game yet but the internet tells me Biz is actually pretty decent

Even cheaper if you pay by the month and cut it off when the regular season ends,

Or wait until February to subscribe.

I'm losing my mind, so bear with me.
Jarry being out got me thinking. I wonder how an actual shooter tutor would do. I suppose what you'd miss most would be the ability of the goalie to cover the puck. Would be endless tickle fights in the crease. Do you think puck movement and lack of ability to freeze it would be more or less important than the goalie actually being able to move to stop the puck?
Help me with this important question; I think it's more interesting than the fat-guy-in-goal thought exercise.

I think any odd man break would result in a goal. Power plays would be at 100%
Maybe a “freeze” is if a defender gets his stick cleanly on a loose puck in the crease?

I've seen a lot of EN situations where they just can't get it done despite having an odd-man advantage*. Usually, the D sells out in some way the shooters couldn't anticipate. Probably not sustainable for 60 minutes though.
*This could just be a negative outlook based on the Pens history of not potting ENGs.

Yeah but that’s different. You’re down a man in that situation

It's auto 10 spot, every single game even with the freeze rule. Unless you just had two defensemen just blocking the holes...I assume you don't get an extra skater here for the goalie-less team...
Hockey Randomness
You'd definitely see the trap make a comeback.
Hockey Randomness
No extra skater, just thoughts and prayers.

I almost said this exact same thing. I pictured a d-zone powerplay style setup, even at full strength. And then layer a NZ trap on it.

I mean. I was a goalie. With my goalie stuff, shooting from the dot, give me 100 pucks and I’m scoring with over 90 of them on a shooter tutor. And that’s going short side top cheese with all shots.

Yeah I'm not good by any means but I'm scoring probably 95 of those

The double scoreboards are … unique.

Saw this on Reddit.
And I can't speak for anyone else, but the rivalries have been shoved down our throats so much (artificially creating endless annual matchups instead of it happening organically) that they don't matter much to me at this point. The random chance involved in the conference format made it more fun and MUCH more high stakes. You couldn't just say "meh, we will just beat them next year". It was nerve-wracking and exciting because the bragging rights could last for years.
Familiarity has bred boredom.
Exhibit 12f on why the divisional playoff format sucks. Your reward for finishing with one of the conference's best records against the toughest division is being forced into a four team meat grinder.Metro 24-7-7 / +36
Atlantic 19-17-4 / -10
Central 16-19-3 / -23
Pacific 19-16-5 / -3
The only team with a losing record in the metro is the islanders who are 2-2-1 with a -2 goal differential

Hard to imagine someone who thinks this is a good league. It’s a good sport. Give me the case for it not being a dogshit league.
