waht is up with this 'anti-hockey' bulshit? lol
Being anti-nhl and anti-hockey are pretty easy to distinguish if you’re having a discussion in good faith and not just trying to steamroll a POV.

Expansion means more seeds are planted in America for new players. That’s not controversial. The question is…so?

If you watch a few games a night and follow a bunch of teams, I can see how these enrollment numbers make your pants tight. Cool. Fine. But if you have a more narrow interest in one team, then it doesn’t matter and expansion is a clear nuisance.

People want different stuff. Film at 11.

My daughter is so upset that Brian Smelliot is no longer a tandem with Carter Fart. #teenagerhumor

Michael Frolik wrapped up his NHL career at the age of 33, and signed with Lausanne.

So the Leafs dont have cap space to recall a goalie this early in the season?

So the Leafs dont have cap space to recall a goalie this early in the season?
A unique (one might say “Leafy”) set of circumstances has left the team unable to use a normal recall or an emergency recall on Michael Hutchinson from the AHL:

- Carrying 13 forwards and seven defensemen (with Auston Matthews still out recovering), their extra healthy roster player, defenseman Timothy Liljegren, is needed tonight as Justin Holl is sick. “Holl has cold symptoms and his PCR test hasn’t come back yet,” reports Kristen Shilton.

- They’re within $850k (league min. salary + $100k) of the cap ceiling. Per the CBA, under the above condition, they need to play a game with fewer than 20 players before they can trigger an emergency recall. Therefore, Hutchinson can’t be recalled until after the game (he can be eligible to back up on Monday vs. NYR).

- There are two players on the Leaf roster playing on entry-level contracts who could’ve been sent down without needing to clear waivers first in order to make space for a standard recall of Hutchinson — Rasmus Sandin and Liljegren — but the injury to Holl would’ve meant playing a defenseman short in order to go this route.

Like…you think that’s a risk? They may not make the playoffs now? That the model that worked this way last year wouldn’t work again?

…I also don’t think he’s faking it but I also think the team knows he can sit out and it wont matter.

The NHL playoffs are notoriously difficult to get into, you know. They only let in 50% of the teams. It used to be 53%!

Tampa lost the entire line that put them over the top...their bottom six is cheeks...

Maroon-Colton-Perry
Katchouck-Bellemare-Joseph

That's six fourth liners...Perry didn't have a job for a while last year...Joseph has trouble staying in the show...Katchouck just now is playing in the NHL at 23, he might turn out, but that's fairly rare these days to wait that long...

They also played an entire season against that **** division, and I won't even get into last year's playoff format.

They’ll still make the playoffs without Kucherov, as we’re about to see. At least this isn’t like a hypothetical thought exercise.

Whether it’s a tactic…nah. It’s too risky. Just a funny coincidence. Now i think they’ll absolutely milk it if it looks like they could sign someone if they keep him out longer and they’re in good playoff position. THAT, they’ll do and F them on that one.

Evander Kane got suspended 21 games (without pay, which is particularly noteworthy to him) for faking a covid vaccine card...as a group, we couldn't make up stuff to make him look like more of a **** up than he does all by himself...

If forced between 3 players, I would rather the Pens have Kane than Marchant or Wilson. Kane might be the biggest pud off of the ice, but the other two are pure trash.

Assuming that was meant to be Brad Marchand and not Todd Marchant, I disagree...in fact, Kane is the least useful of the three for me...no hockey sense, not a well-liked teammate, not a good person...

Tom Wilson and Brad Marchand don't check off all of those boxes in the same way...
