BellowsName a Dallas Stars forward not named Seguin, Benn, or Radulov.
Per @ikhurshudyan the NHL has granted Tom Wilson 'Non-Roster Player' status during his suspension. Meaning he does not occupy one of the clubs roster spots like a suspended player normally would. This allows the #Caps to activate Kempny off IR without having to send someone down.
The Trottier Player's Tribune article talking about this is pretty funny.BellowsName a Dallas Stars forward not named Seguin, Benn, or Radulov.
Before I throw anything, is this standard operating procedure?https://twitter.com/CapFriendly/status/ ... 3939598336Per @ikhurshudyan the NHL has granted Tom Wilson 'Non-Roster Player' status during his suspension. From what I've seen is this happened with Torres when he got 40 games. I think it is horse crap because he's been talked to enough, they shouldn't get a reprieve. Before I throw anything, is this standard operating procedure?https://twitter.com/CapFriendly/status/ ... 3939598336Per @ikhurshudyan the NHL has granted Tom Wilson 'Non-Roster Player' status during his suspension. This was why I didn't get worked up about it.It's not SOP for a short suspension...but the league is going, "look, this guy is a donkey...we're making an example of him...we're not gonna let you, as a team, not have an extra roster player to hang around with you because we're exacting vigilante justice on a guy for a preseason hit...this helps everyone because we don't have to spend all this money and admin for every road trip yous go on and have to make a call-up, just to send him down when you get home again to do cap stuff, so we avoid all that...and while we take away this dingus's paycheck (how about a cool mil, thank you very much), we allow someone else to collect an NHL paycheck too, instead of leaving that void...so Wilson's money goes to the NHLPA, the PA gets another guy a paycheck, so that might cool their jets a little bit because now Dmitrij Jaskin is making big boy money in his place and he's not a danger to his co-workers...we did what needed to be done, we don't need to inconvenience you a great deal to do it, this is small or no potatoes to fans as it doesn't affect them in the tiniest bit and it's a fine bridge to build in that we're specifically holding this player accountable for his dumbass actions as we can tell it's not the team telling him to go out there and merk Oscar Sundqvist..."
From @tsn_wally , with Ottawa still paying Dion Phaneuf 1.75m a season, and Cody Ceci out today, Phaneuf is the highest paid Sens d-man on the ice in the OTT/LA game.
That's awesome.
