What do people expect Caps players to say? "Yeah, they should have given him more! He is trash!" ??? Naturally they are going to defend him and condemn the suspension.

Didn't Matt Cooke get a repeat offender suspension like that a number of years ago, and Pen's players were more like "cooke needs to stop doing that" as opposed to "the league is out to get us"?

Eller is a bit of a puss though too. If you are going to talk **** then you better not get rag-dolled by a 5'2 rat.

At a certain point his teammates have to condemn what he's doing. Other teams are going to start employing Wilson's taxtocs against the Caps and when Kuznetsov or Holtby gets conconussed they'll have no one to blame but Wilson

Not true. If he is liked in the room, which he is, no one would throw him under the bus.

I think this is the needed suspension, and hopefully it effectively neuters Wilson. He either stops blindsiding guys in the head, or he gets suspended for 40 games.

This. How often do you hear any hockey players take shots at teammates?

mikey, or whoever, have a pretty pedantic question. In the situation above the back ref has his arm raised, the forward ref does not. Generally, do the refs not bother raising their arm if another ref already has? Having this discussion in a group chat at the moment but we're all plebes.

I would guess that it's first come, first serve. In case another infraction is committed, it gives the other ref a chance to call it, too.

Carter Rowney played over 15 **** minutes for the Ducks on Tuesday. Did he even play that many total minutes last season?

Well I can't tell a lot from the picture. The back ref has his arms down. The low ref has this, which isn't always conventional...back ref usually gets this call because he has the larger view and he is near a linesman who can also assist with this call.

Moreover, it's rare that TMM is a delayed call. Typically a puck touch begets the call.

Usually, you see a penalty and you put your arm up...once your arm is up, it stays up...even if you know your partner has that call or think he does, don't put it down...you can discuss what you had in the officials circle and move on, but don't start moving arms up and down for any reason. You see a penalty, put your arm up. If you don't , then don't.

In my opinion, based just on the picture, the back ref doesn't see this.

And anecdotally, in this particular scenario (well, not with ****** 7 guys), it's a harder call than you think...you're not just sitting there counting players all day...
