I guess QBs and goalies are fairly comparable. I look at wins first. Wins are wins. You play to win the game. I don't think wins is necessarily volume - it is more longevity.

Vanbiesbrouck, Barrasso, CuJo, Luongo, Fleury...I'd rank them and see where you're at...because not all of them are going...

Off the hip I dont think any of them really have that transcendent type of feel about them. MAF, based on likely Win totals and Cup appearances I guess maybe.. but at the same time, MAF was the winning goaltender in only 1 of the 3 Cups he has.

He contributed heavy to second though. And that's the only career still going...

If he had remained in Pittsburgh, as odd as it is to say, I'd say he has no shot at the Hall...this move to Vegas gives him a shot on the outside track, and he's got the tiebreaker because he's the nicest guy and a great ambassador for the game...

I forgot Kuemper was still in the league...in my head, it was Raanta/A.Hill...so...hmph...

I'll assume Comrie is back on waivers in about a month...
Kuemper just got himself a 2 year deal at 4.5 per.

I think if Vegas wins the cup in their first year he goes from fringe to lock. Heck I’d say if they win one while he’s the starter he becomes a lock.

So apparently Tavares was named captain of the Leafs. Kinda surprised that they didn’t give it to Matthews, to be honest.

I mean there's a lot of obvious ones due to their status with the team, but from my knowledge primarily gained by growing up playing in the area there was Kim Clackson, Dave Hannan, Troy Loney, Trottier, Wregget. Pretty sure Kehoe still lives here. Alain Lemieux. TK. Rupp. Colby. If you really wanted to break it down I bet you could come up with 50 Pens alumni that still live in the area.

DeBrincat's 3rd-year salary is $9 million, so that's his QO then? Insane.

they couldn't after what came out. had this incident come out back in May when it happened Mathews could've probably been wearing the C last night. Tavares isn't a bad choice. let him have the C now and in a few years when he's gone they can give it to AM.

Yes. But you can also walk away from that and let him be a UFA, of course. Or work out a different extension for lower, should DeBrincDog be amenable to that...

A few of the higher end RFAs that signed 3 year deals this summer did that.

Yeah, that's been the new trend. Really smart and creative way to keep short-term costs down. The thing I'm most interested in is seeing how many of these see teams walk away from the QO when push comes to shove...
