I don't believe a kid should be penalized the rest of his life for something he did at 14 years old. But he should probably show a little more remorse and actually apologize

But there's only been 4 years since his court date at 14, and the abuse went on for 6. Plus Miller continued to harass the family for 2 years post court date, despite a court order to stay away. And again, this isn't as simple as "oh he said some words, we all made mistakes at 14". He made the victim eat piss-covered candy from a urinal and then bashed his head into a wall, after years of continued abuse and torture. The only reason that video hasn't been released was because they plead guilty to avoid a worse punishment.

This also isn't penalizing him for life. This is just saying "you haven't earned the right to play in the NHL".

It appears he did earn his right, though. Maybe his penalty was losing hundreds of thousands of dollars by dropping a few rounds?

I'll agree to disagree on this. What he did was incredibly heinous and can't just be chalked up to "14 year olds going to 14 year old".

What do you want to happen? What's your ideal scenario for Miller?

Coyotes don't sign him. He goes on with the rest of his life, not being an NHL player.

Got it. So no additional (?) punitive damages, nothing like that...he is just blocked from having his career of choice (allegedly)...can he play in the AHL? KHL? Is he allowed to become a pro hockey player? Can North Dakota still honor their scholarship offer? Is he allowed to play juniors this year?

Or is it as simple as, he just can't play an NHL game?

UND should drop him. If the KHL wants to pick him up like they did Leipsic, yeah sure whatever.

He shouldn't play a pro game in the USA.

It was bad, I wouldn't want the Pens to draft him by any means. But I'm not sure it's enough to ban him from the whole league forever. I think a majority of the league didn't want to touch him and rightfully so

Not in my book.

He's had 4 years to show contrition to the family of the victim, and not only hasn't he done that, he continued to harass them further.

His actions have voided him the ability to play professional hockey in North America, in my opinion.

If some team wants to take a chance on him that's fine I guess. He'd certainly not be the sole arsehole in the league. But I'd rather my team invested those hundreds of thousands of dollars in a worthier candidate. You act like a sociopath, you face the consequences.

Those look straight out of EASHL. And I actually dig it. The traditionalists are going to have a **** fit, though.

Also, the collar is hilarious.

Imagine playing with that jersey in a black-lit arena

The horizontal rings on the bottom will make them look like hi-vis road construction workers or trash collectors.

Ok so now he's cut from UND and the NHL. His hockey career is over. What job(s) is he allowed to get?

You know those little plastic tabs on the ends of shoelaces? He can sweep the parking lot where the guy that makes those works.
