MSL was a punk that used a yellow stick when there was no yellow on his got dang jersey then had a crying fit when his gm left his bum ass at home for the Olympics and forced a trade and I don’t like his face and since he’s a Canadian he got more votes for awards than the obviously superior European Hossa and MSL also wasn’t as good at the 200 foot game and he leeched off good line mates and he probably has gross feet

Well, in all honesty, there isn't much to refute there...not one of those things that had to do with hockey did I ever disagree with...so you and your gross foot fetish can have fine-ish Slovakian boy Marian Hossa...I'll take the good NCAA (that would have been capitalized had it not already needed to be capitalized...but put extra emphasis on it in your head) boy, Martin St. Louis...so American that his last name is one of our grimiest, most useless cities!
"Oh you built a small, thin tunnel to let everyone know that you can pass through to better things in either direction? Great. Thanks for the tip."
In conclusion, Martin St. Louis is a man of great contrast. Thank you.

MSL is a good example of the sports thing where just because someone looks nice and is quiet, everyone assumes they’re great people. The Marvin Harrison Syndrome. MHS. it’s now a thing.
But then they’re asked to actually do something with their voice/brain/whatever off the field and it’s like...eeeesh. I liked you better when you were mute. Harrison, for instance, murdered a man in cold blood, even.

It’s going to be very difficult to explain to people in 100 years why those rangers teams were so shitty even though they were the titans of the east for a time. But those rangers teams were so shitty.

Hossa broke 100 once, 90 once, 80 twice, 70 three times. 71+ points 7 times isn't chopped liver. 525 goals, 1134 points. 4th in points from 1997-2018. 3rd in playoff points for that period (behind only Crosby and Malkin) 0.87 points per game regular season, 0.73 points per game in the playoffs.
Over the period that he played the was top-tier.

Over the period of time, exclusive to him, in which he filled up 100% of that time and virtually no one else (anyone else?) can lay claim to that subset of time, he did fine...yes...we surely can see why that is completely useless, right?
By that logic, I'm the most productive in my company's history from January 2014 thru May 2018 too...
If you want to break an actual era out (say, post-lockout, for instance)...Hossa is 20th in points...behind such luminaries as Thomas Vanek, Jason Spezza and Eric Staal...oh, also, Martin St. Louis, who quit two years before he did...

This is 2nd tier. Which is still a very fine tier.Hossa broke 100 once, 90 once, 80 twice, 70 three times. 71+ points 7 times isn't chopped liver. 525 goals, 1134 points. 4th in points from 1997-2018. 3rd in playoff points for that period (behind only Crosby and Malkin) 0.87 points per game regular season, 0.73 points per game in the playoffs.

Just pointing out that arguing about Hossa is not top tier is silly. It stinks more of being butt hurt about him signing with Detroit rather than any real basis in fact.Over the period of time, exclusive to him, in which he filled up 100% of that time and virtually no one else (anyone else?) can lay claim to that subset of time, he did fine...yes...we surely can see why that is completely useless, right?

I can't speak for these white devils, but you know I'm cool. If there's anyone here or on the internet in general that wants to represent history as accurately and as balanced as possible, it's me.
You're a logical guy, I surely don't need to explain the massive problem with representing someone's career totals against bits and pieces of everyone else's careers, right?

I loved hossa the whole way. I was happy when he won with Chicago each time and I didn’t put any stock in his Ottawa playoff failures. And he did an amazing thing with that Detroit deal. Gave up 50 mill for a one year shot at the cup. Awesome.
But he’s not top tier.
