Man. Ottawa gets it wrong at every turn. It’s like they operate in a bizzaro world

Well, not playing in Ottawa gives him less of a reason to drink.

Police were called to a Tampa residence Wednesday evening after neighbors heard loud noises, including cries of, “Shoot! Shoot!”

Fortunately for all concerned, it turned out to be just Tampa Bay Lightning fans yelling for their team to take a shot on net.

The incident occurred during Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals, in which the Lightning are squaring off against the Dallas Stars in Edmonton. According to reports, Devon Garnett and a pair of unidentified friends were watching the game when Tampa Bay defenseman Victor Hedman handled the puck in the Lightning’s offensive zone, when they alarmed some people living next door.

“I wanted Hedman to shoot the puck, so I screamed, ‘Shoot! Shoot!’” said Garnett (via WFLA).

Minutes later, deputies with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office turned up saying they had received a call regarding a potential domestic disturbance.

A second to move Staal. Price of Johnson is a first.

I’ve been thinking about Stamkos if the Lightning win the Cup this year. He’d have his name engraved, but I have to put him in the same category as guys who made the cut but really had little effect (goal in game 3, whatever) in the Final. I keep reading all of these sob stories on Reddit about how he’s an elite playoff performer, etc., but outside of a single season, I don’t think that’s at all true. Am I undervaluing his postseason play? He’s probably a HoFer based on his skill and regular season play, but I don’t get the reverie for him outside of that.

Ex-NHLer Marek Mazanec. He said he stopped playing after the referee motioned with his hands. However, the goal was confirmed.

Bad job by the ref, but you gotta see that play through...track the puck...

I mean his numbers aren't terrible (career .76 PPG over 71 games) and he had some consistent postseasons statistically where one season doesn't sway the average on his stats but I get what you're saying.

Like I can't remember any part of the postseason where he dominated.

Extremely soft, the numbers - as poor as they are compared to his regular seasons - actually flatter him...even in 2018, he only scored once at ES...the only time he assisted on ES goals was in the first round against lowly New Jersey...

I'm not one of those guys that dismisses PP goals or whatever...but that's basically all he is in the postseason, a perimeter power play specialist...you can't find him at even strength in his whole postseason career...worse at the playoffs than Joe Thornton for me and it's a lay-up...

This playoff was not exactly a rousing success for TV ratings...

Game 6 (NBC) ended up with just under 3 million viewers (2.95 mil) making it the least watched game 6 (from what I could tell) since 1994 (where I couldn't find game 6 ratings, though given that it was one of the best series of all time and featured the New York Rangers, I imagine it also got more than 3 mil viewers)...

It's the least watched final game of the Final since 1998 (couldn't find the ratings for game 4 immediately) other than 2007 (Anaheim vs Ottawa, game 5, 1.8 mil)

For comparison:
2019: StL/Bost G6 (6.5 mil), G7 (8.7 mil)
2018: Wsh/VGK G5 (6.7 mil)
2017: Pit/Nsh G6 (7 mil)
