I was a STH for 14 years and attended hundreds of games.

Pens just scored? Stand.
Penalty shot? Stand.
Shootout? Stand.
Pens about to close out playoff series? Stand.
Outrageously bad penalty call? Maybe stand to boo. Optional.

Other than those? Sit your butt down.

Yeah, if something crazy is about to unfold...sure. But otherwise stay seated and back. Usually the most I'll do is I will tilt forward if a 2 on 1 is developing just in excitement...but I try diligently to be mindful in public...
