I know Ghost pretty well since his days at Union...I don't think there's anything there...

Also, he practiced with the team after being waived yesterday...

Maybe cap related? Does that change after a player is sent down? For either team or trade purposes.

I mean, there's cap implications if he's sent down, sure...other teams have done this with guys like Stralman and DeKeyser and what not, I think both guys have term, and teams were unwilling to commit now and future money...

Just read this. Color me shocked that not a single team gave him a chance.

Interested to see if a follow-up story of him taking a leave for personal reasons comes out.

That's not surprising after reading that Athletic article that was posted earlier ITT.

Is this a thing where the Philly GM sends all the teams with cap space an email reading, “you’re not taking him, right?” And then gets confirmation that it’s a safe move?

Seems risky otherwise. Ghost is a useful NHL player on a team with infrastructure. You wouldn’t risk giving that away, IMO.
