I hate whatever slang terms he's come up with... the "chicken parm" crap. It seems a lot like a "How do you do, fellow kids" type of thing.

Maybe. But he's also maybe the most visible sports media type in the US that's passionate about hockey, he's good for the game imo

Both players get their "wish"...
Dubois and a 3rd to WPG for Laine (26% retain), Roslovic
Edited.

It's Dubois and a 3rd for Laine and Roslovic, no?

Still an overpay

I saw someone describe the trade as "Wanting out of Ohio and Manitoba and being traded to Canadian Ohio and American Manitoba".
Also will be interesting to see how quickly Laine gives up on Torts.

Laine on the ice > Dubois on the iceBoth players get their "wish"...
Dubois to WPG for Laine, Roslovic and a 3rd...
Dubois contract situation > Laine contract situation
Value "today" is probably about equal. Going with what you put, flip the 3rd.
Dubois, 3rd for Laine, Roslovic

Exactly my thoughts. Neither player is going to be thrilled with their new destination.I saw someone describe the trade as "Wanting out of Ohio and Manitoba and being traded to Canadian Ohio and American Manitoba".

I could see Dubois as more wanting to get away from Torts, so he might be content with Winnipeg. There wasn't a concrete reason that was stated as to why he wanted out.

The Jackets now have two of the top 10 shots in the league, so that's not nothing...
I don't care much for Roslovic, I can't see him being better than a third liner...which is fine, but it's not a needle mover in a deal like this for me...
Dubois is better than Laine, but Laine is more a specialist. He has just about the best shot out there...but if he's not scoring, he's not anything. Dubois is better on the whole ice for me...the retention helps to even it out a bit, but I like Winnipeg's side of this...

FIFMThis affects me more as an auto racing fan a Law & Order SVU fan than a hockey fan.

You are right...but, Torts got maybe Marian Gaborik's best season, in a not super, super different sitch...
So maybe Laine gets a "safe is death" hall pass...?
