20 points in 4 games? Is Forsberg playing in a beer league?

I have to think that any former NHL player could put up 20 points in 4 beer league games, let alone Peter **** Forsberg. I'd love to see a video series with former players, especially ones that weren't really known for their scoring touch like, I don't know, Jeff Beukeboom, face off against a bunch of beer leaguers.

Former NHLers are so good, it's insane. Like, even if you played at a decently high level, like if you're a kid that played high level juniors or even got some NCAA D-1 time...if you're playing against any reputable NHLer, even if he's 45, the 45 year old is going to dummy everyone...

@shoeshine boy did you get to play against Maxim Afinogenov...? Didn't he come down and dominate an open skate one day in the most obnoxious way possible? haha

And for a player like me, who was grinding his way through and punching up all the way...I played against Brandon Bollig................in roller............ let me put it this way, if I had to play defense against him 1 on 1, and all I had to do was stop him from getting a shot off, but I couldn't leave the rink until I stopped him...I'd miss the Super Bowl...

I did not play against him but it wouldn't surprise me if he went to a drop-in and dominated. I mean, there's some good players in the ATL, mostly transplants from Northern USA and Canada. the past 2 Rec (all skill levels, re-drafted every season) seasons I played with a woman who played for North Dakota from 2006-2008. she's 15 years removed from D1 and not even trying and she's easily the best player I've ever played with, male or female.

when the Thrashers were still here, some of the 4th liners would play in the top level of one of the local beer leagues in the Summer. I would watch Jeff Odgers walk around guys who played Canadian Juniors like they were beginners.

We all know about my history with Cory Conacher

I was also on the ice a few times with our old buddy Simon Després and if he wanted to keep the puck for a full 60 minutes of a pick-up game, he easily could have. And this wasn’t with a bunch of chumps. This was almost all D-1 players with a few NAHL guys.

John Zeiler, who couldn’t do 2+2 if his life depended on it was another guy. At the NHL level, he would turn the round puck square. Men’s league in the summer? He could score every shift if he wanted.

There was a story years ago that a former Penguins mid-rounder dropped down to the lowest level of mens league and was scoring so much that he was booted from the league after one game. Supposedly it got to the point that he was bombing shots from center ice and scoring. I thought I had posted it here before, but let me check the other board.

It looks like it was Greg Crozier, who had a cup of coffee with the Pens in the late 90s.

Of course, the deadspin article that I mentioned on the other board is long gone.

We play roller against a kid who plays/played for RMU's D1 ice team, and he even just purely dominates. I couldn't imagine playing against a NHL player

I played dek with someone who also played roller, and had JT Miller drop into a game for the other team.

Said he was barely trying, but no one could stop him, and a (to the storyteller) half-assed wrister cracked the guy's shin pad.
