It was something...but a similarly-aged Alexander Mogilny also scored 76 goals that year.

Selanne had a better celebration, so he wins...

4th, but I mean, whatever...Selanne is like a year younger. And it's not experience really mattered...Mogilny hit 50 once more, Selanne twice more. It was just a fluke season in a high-scoring year because of all the loser expansion teams dragging around. 1993 was the last year of the 1980's in a lot of ways...

I like Selanne just fine you ass butts...I'm just saying that his 76 goal season wasn't from "another universe"...Mogilny scored the same in less games...that's all...hit the bidet shower...

Then tell me about the dude that survived the Spanish Flu and his other worldly season scoring on goalies that made their own gear and half of them had polio.

You don't deserve that kind of knowledge...

And didn't Arturs Irbe make his own gear out of old diapers and apple cores...? He was probably conceived, born, and raised in Chernobyl...are you gonna knock him too?

If you need a (better) Finn up there...how about Kurri's 19 goal playoff? Or his 12 goal series in the '85 Campbell Conference Final? 12 goals in a 6 game series...even adjusting for era, that's bonkers...

Wasn't there like 26 100 point scorers in 1993...? Barrasso probably had 4 goals, 13 assists that year for Christ's sake...

I **** you not, I had some on-ice training sessions with Irbe. He is one of the coolest guys in hockey I've ever met. He let me try on his leg pads and gloves at the end of one of our sessions. His blocker weighed like 20 pounds and his glove felt like I had an oven mitt on.

 That's awesome. I've heard he's a little looney tunes, but a real good guy...

He was over here working with Andrey Makarov and Matt Hackett...two goalies I actually liked in their younger years that were kind of sputtering, I was hoping he could help them...but it never really materialized for anyone involved...I'm not even sure what happened to Irbe, but I don't think he's around anymore, I think he's back in Latvia...maybe doing national team work...? No idea actually...

This got me thinking...who is the best Duck of all time for what they did in the uniform?

Selanne, Getzlaf, Kariya? I assume I'm not forgetting anyone...

Yeah. Haven't seen or heard him resurface after his Buffalo tenure

I was bullish on Hackett too. He's got that perfect goalie frame.

Yeah, I considered them...Niedermayer can't provide enough value in five seasons for me...one of which he missed half the year...he's a non-starter compared to the others for me for the top spot...

And I assume there's no reasonable amount of goal-scoring winger festishization to push Perry over Getzlaf...

As such, I left them both behind...they're definitely in the top-5 conversation, but I don't think they're #1 material...

I do agree. Imho, only Selanne and Kariya are really in the conversation for #1.
