Who wants another depressing tell all from a former hockey player?
"They can scratch my name off that cup, and I’d hand my ring back in right now if I could go back and make it so that I wouldn’t have had to experience all this pain and sorrow and anger and sadness."

This is such a hard read. But a must read.

But the NHL has never heard of CTE... :face:

I mean, legally, why would they admit to that publicly? Doesn't that kind of mess with the whole (potential) lawsuit/settlement thing...it's not like that clown from the NFL has an "I'm with CTE --->" t-shirt...

Related to the Boynton article, video with Carcillo: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us ... ead-trauma

To continue with the concussion theme, here's a multi-part interview Joe Vitale did with Shelly Anderson at ole Bud Moonshine's outlet:

Kind of thinking Hoffman is a clown or he's being abused by his fiancee. Either way, he's in a tough spot and is likely going to get traded away for nothing.

I find it amusing how no one seems to consider that he's just as cuckoo as she is. :scared:

Galchenyuk seems like a perennial disappointment.

If a team wanted to ruin a young guy’s career, they should follow the Galchenyuk - Montreal model. Talk about completely boning a potential star player

Something called “PGHHockeyNOW” on the Twitter machine said the Pens were in on Domi, offering the Coyotes either Brian Rust or Connor Sheary and Dominik Simon. 🤔

Earlier in the week I heard Grove float the idea of Kessel to Arizona for a package including Domi.

Regardless of any of that nonsense, the Pens have a LW problem with Sheary being bad, Hagelin being unable to finish, and Rust not being one.

Watching the NHL network this weekend they were discussing the Galchenyuk trade, not the Domi trade, and stating that if Domi does well it is a wash for Montreal, but if he doesn't perform out of the gate it could be the final straw for Bergevin. Basically saying that it was a no-win trade for Bergevin and could be a big negative for him.

I still think the insistence to appease the French-speaking people holds that franchise back.

Sure seems like that's basically why they hired Julien.

Also, the media is now starting to pivot towards the ownership in terms of the blame for the mess up there.

http://montrealgazette.com/sports/hocke ... off-molson
At this point, whatever more damage Marc Bergevin might do to the Canadiens is on owner Geoff Molson, not the general manager.

Molson, the Canadiens’ owner/president, is the one who decided to keep Bergevin in place for Year 7 as GM after the team missed the playoffs for the second time in three years and finished 28th in the overall NHL standings. The Canadiens’ 29-40-13 record this season was seven points worse than the 31-35-16 mark they had in 2011-12 when they also finished 28th. Molson fired Pierre Gauthier as GM after that season and hired Bergevin.
Bergevin will definitely be making more moves this summer and hopefully he has a better plan than last summer when he watched Alexander Radulov and Andrei Markov leave and then started the season $8 million below the salary cap, a problem he never fixed. Bergevin has 10 picks at next weekend’s NHL Draft, including No. 3 overall, and according to CapFriendly.com now has just over $14 million in projected salary-cap space. What happens between now and July 1, when the free-agent sweepstakes begin, will determine the future success of this franchise, and right now the Canadiens look lost.

But Molson still believes Bergevin is the man to fix his own mess. Or maybe he just doesn’t want to eat the remaining four years of the GM’s contract.

Whatever it is, it’s on Molson now.
