I have always used 'gassed' in the context of being winded at the end of an extended shift.

Pretty typical hockey lingo actually...which doesn't necessarily make it stainless...but "gassed" is a verb that is used in ordinary course...it means to get rid of...

Pasternak tripped and fell and hurt his thumb walking to the parking lot after a team sponsored event last night.

He's out at least 2 weeks.
