@TSNBobMcKenzie
Don’t be surprised if veteran NHL coach Dan Bylsma re-surfaces this week behind an NHL bench as an assistant coach. DET is the most likely landing spot.

San Jose did want Boedker out, yes. After giving Kane all their cash, they needed to free up some space...for the easy comparison, Troy, Boedker is their Hagelin. Decent player and all, but at four bills, he's a luxury item...

SJ has been prepared to take a run at Tavares, in the same way that they took a run at Stamkos...they made an impression with him, but ultimately, he didn't leave Tampa...
Danka.

Do you think Tavares leaves the Islanders?

If I'm Tavares, I would simply based on the arena stuff going on. Seems to be a crap show.

There is word today that Artemi Panarin has told CLB that he is not ready to consider an extension “at this time.” (UFA July 2019.) As a result, the Blue Jackets are testing the market for him.

The feeling I get, I have gotten for the last few months, is that he does what Stamkos does...he steps outside the house, looks up and down the street, goes back inside and closes the door. He's already heard what Lou Lamoriello has planned probably, he'll hear what - I assume - Barry Trotz will want to do there...I think that Tavares had trust in Doug Weight, but I still think Tavares can be kept aboard...knowing Lamoriello, if he feels Tavares is a sharp knife - like Brodeur was - he'll (quietly) have him involved in some personnel decisions. Besides Lamoriello, I'm not sure anyone had any more influence on trades than veteran Brodeur did in New Jersey...Brodeur is one of the most intelligent players I've ever seen, if JT is smart, Lou will pick up on it and get him involved...no other team is going to be able to offer that...

Also Trotz was apparently seen in Seattle this AM - would be hilarious if he took a break to wait for the expansion team.

Does the Trotz decision have any impact on whether Carlson will stay or go?

Would I trade Kessel+ to a rival if it meant a shot at signing Panarin?

St Louis Reddit fans are all over it.

I doubt it. I think money is the only reason Carlson stays or goes. this is (likely) his only chance to truly cash in AND have (pretty much) his pick of where he wants to play some of the best years of his career.

Carlson basically hit the jackpot with his performance in the finals this year too, the guy can chase the money.

If they lose Trotz and Carlson, I think they're a WC team next year.

Two months ago, did you envision reading this sentence?
Lou Lamoriello is speaking with Stanley Cup-winning head coach Barry Trotz today about becoming the #Isles next coach.
Feels good to be back in the major leagues, right?

Crapitals banner raising will be against the Bruins. Craps fans losing their minds because it's not against the Pens.
Newsflash Caps fans: no one thinks the Caps v Pens is a big rivalry except for Caps fans......and NBC.

Real question: does he get his number retired in Pittsburgh even?
