I don't know how Capfriendly goes about getting their **** so quickly, but 8 years, $92MM for Ek65. Cap hit is $11.5MM per season, $53MM is signing bonuses (57.6%), his total compensation in 19-20 will be $14.5MM ($11MM in signing bonus), and 57.6% of the contract will be paid out over the first four seasons. This deal is BANANAS. EK65, Burns, and Pickle will count $26.5MM against the cap through the 2024-25 season. Karlsson is 29, Burns is 34, Vlasic is 32, and each has some form of a NTC, EK full NTC, Burns submits three teams, Vlasic NTC until final three years then submits three teams. Karlsson and his 1.5 ankles will have the third highest cap hit in the league next season.
Couture is also 30 and about to enter year one of an eight year contract at $8MM/year with a 3 team NTC. They're **** old.

50 people have voting rights. The voting is somewhat complicated - one round takes place in the middle of the season, the other round at the end of the season. The points from both rounds are summed up. Then, the 10 players with the highest vote totals are re-voted again in the final round. What's the ballot?`10 person? Every Czech player is eligible. 43 players received at least 1 point.

It's from Larry Brooks so who knows the validity, but the Jets apparently nuked themselves on trading Trouba by not allowing his camp to talk to interested teams about an extension.Steal for NYR...kept the receipt on Hayes basically...

They were just literally tired of dealing with Trouba and wanted to move on.

Trouba made a post about wanting his wife to be in the states for her career in the medical field.

That's actually some pretty forward thinking for an athlete. It's her salary that's going to carry them into retirement, not his.

I don't think it's as pragmatic as that. I think it's more like, "I want her to be happy. I want to be happy. We can both be our happiest in New York. I don't owe my team or the league anything other than my play on the ice". And he's right. That's actually some pretty forward thinking for an athlete. It's her salary that's going to carry them into retirement, not his.
