Half a season left to play, but I'd say Carolina, Florida, NY Rangers, New Jersey, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Ottawa might as well give up now.

Also, how is Edmonton only 4 points out of a playoff spot?

Wasn't there a report recently that a mandate came down from the league for the officials to call less penalties and allow a more physical game? Yeah, this is apparently what the league wants.

These kinds of memos go out periodically based on trends that are seen...not uncommon...

Remember that first round we had like five or six years ago where there were like 52 too many men penalties? These things go out...and I don't think we'll see a full-scale difference...it's just adjusting a slider...
