Three-way (hehe) deal between Ottawa, Colorado and Nashville.

OTT gets: Duchene
NSH gets: Turris (just signed a $6 x 6)
COL gets: Samuel Girard, Vladislav Kamenev, and a 2nd from Nashville. Shane Bowers, Andrew Hammond, and a 1st and 3rd from Ottawa

Just read yesterday that the deal was supposedly dead.

So Bonino is a 3rd line center again.

Unless Turris wouldn’t sign that same deal in Ottawa (which he probably didn’t want to hence the trade), I’m not sure why they were part of this... Duchene is dynamic and all, but Turris is terrific.

Agree. The upgrade from Turris to Duchene is not worth two 1sts (Bowers, a 2017 1st) and a 3rd. Girard and Kamenev are both young players that can play in the NHL already (both recent 2nd round picks, 2014 and 2016 I think, respectively). The Avs got a stupid, video-game-like haul out of this...like a crazy about of assets...I don't even understand how...

Turris makes the Preds pretty formidable now too...RyJo-Turris-Bonino, yeah that's no joke down the middle. They didn't upset that top-4 defense either. Nor give up Saros.

That's a bananaland trade...I can't remember the last time I saw a three-way like that (giggity)...

Ottawa is a budget team and all, but you gotta pay your number one center some dough to be relevant sometimes.

I don't think that's true...I'll have forensics check it out though...

Yeah, I don't know...meow, this is a little crazy talk maybe...but if someone sat me down and said "here's why Kyle Turris is better now than Matt Duchene..." I would absolutely give that the time of day...would you? Am I just over-selling KT or under selling Dutchy...? Dutchy is an upgrade offensively, I got that...but just for the game itself, boy, I don't know...it's awfully close isn't it...?

I don't know if I am the person to ask about this. Now that Hossa is out of the league, Turris is my guy. He such a slick, smooth operator I think he could fit onto any team. Duchene plays like his hair is on fire. That doesn't work everywhere. He is a hell of a complimentary player though.

"Better player"? Not sure.

Duchene left the ice mid-game due to the trade. That’s nuts.

There were another three bags that can't be seen in the pic: one in front of the bag on the left, and two more that were past the goalie bag on the right.
Going here tonight actually. I'm looking forward to a buffalo chicken taco.
I was at the game Friday, briefly passed through Scott's. :fist:

I can't even grasp the amount of negotiations that must have been made to make that trade happen. Good deal for the Avs though since Duchene almost refused to play...

That trade makes my brain hurt. I don't see Duchene as much of an upgrade, if at all, over Turris, who just signed for the same AAV as Duchene, whose deal is up after next season and he's a petulant little turd who's going to want paid, and then to top it all off Colorado gets a haul that would be rejected by NHL 18 even with trade override turned on.

Also, **** Bonino and his second line center dreams.

Why is Duchene a turd, is there something I missed?

They might be set if they decide to give the number one job to Saros. I don’t believe Rinne could get them through a final without his head acting like a Pez dispenser like it did last year.

Kings Vs. Ducks always is entertaining. 35 miles of freeway (2.3 hours) between them. Dux fans are missing from their barn. Gibson's mask took a mean shot from Doughty that knocked it free, and Gibson left the ice to the concussion protocol room. Kopitar for the Kings made the same walk earlier in the same third period.

@mikey. Kempe (Kemp A) is a new force for the Kings. Any thoughts or notes? Speed, great hands so far.

Yeah, he was tracking towards third liner for a bit, or weak 2C...his hands got a lot better over the summer, his ability to do things at high speed is where he really improved...so he has slotted right up with the Carter injury. I have him on one fantasy team somewhere after Carter got hurt because he has shown some ability in flashes. Now how he sustains himself against regular big time competition is something to look at, how adaptable does he get...but he has taken a meaningful step forward in his development after stalling just a touch...good call.
