Murray always seemed like a good dude. I feel bad for him. That was a fast and hard fall.
IMO, hasn't been the same since his dad died.

Maybe that’s it. Also though once teams had game film on him they started picking him apart. He seemed like a very ego driven guy and perhaps he was resistant to coaching and change considering his problems from early on we’re still his problems now. Regardless, if he’s used his money wisely he’s set for life.

So, they paid a team to take a HOF goalie from them in favor of a guy who is already out of the league.

Murray had minimal room for growth because of physical limitations. So he peaked early because like PB said, once there was a enough film on him to see some tendencies and deficiencies, it was lights out. His mental game really went down hill. To an amazing level. Both with the speed in which it happened and the distance it fell. Early in his career, he had one of the best mental games I had ever seen. Ever. He shook off goals - especially bad goals - like few others I had seen. It was really something. Then the adversity we all know about straight up broke him. It is a shame when you step back and think about it.

Hes still young-ish. I'm not ruling out a comeback if he can get his brain fixed. Unless he decided he's done.

The tough part to redemption stories in these cases is the contract itself...

These videos are so well done.

This concept would have been for the 00-01 season.

He looks very rejuvenated this year. The last few he has just been kind of hanging out, trying to score goals while being a fairly low residue player. He's back to being a real play driver again it seems...
Nothing gets the guy motivated more than individual accomplishments and the greatest one he can achieve is now in sight
