Jordan Staal is closing in on 1000 games.

Weird to think about.
Weird to think about and weirder to realize that he’s been in Carolina for three more seasons than he spent in Pittsburgh.

The Coyotes have been in the NHL 8 more years than the old Jets were. Sheesh

In 2018 Erik Gudbranson signed a 3 year deal ($4M per) with Vancouver. That deal ends this season. He is on his 5th team while under that 3 year deal.

Vancouver (57 games) traded him to Pittsburgh (26 games), who traded him to Anaheim (44 games), who traded him to Ottawa (36 games), who traded him to Nashville.

Going back to yesterday’s theme of being surprised which players are still in the NHL, Detroit’s roster is something else. Sam Gagner. Valteri Filppula. Frans Nielsen. Darren Helm. Jonathan Bernier. I remember Marc Staal getting traded there but completely forgot he existed.

Everyone realized their mistake. Now Nashville gets the joy of closing out the misery. I’ll be surprised if he gets another contract.

Sam Gagner’s career is so damn interesting to me. Just so many twists and turns. He’s reinvented himself like a dozen times.

He will sign a 1 year/1 mill deal somewhere. Teams have a spot for him, the issue was the cap hit. He ain't good but he's probably fine for a #7.

All four Czech Extraleague quarterfinal series went 4:0. Now, both semifinal series go to game 7 (one of the series- Sparta Prague vs. White Tigers of Liberec - started 0:3)

One time I yardsaled myself in a collision. Lost a glove, lost my stick. Puck was sliding pretty close to me and I grabbed my stick and billiard shot it out with the butt-end of my stick and my ungloved hand being the low hand...

That said, I didn't exact crush it...I got just a piece, and it spun out to center, which was enough time for me to get all my equipment back on haha...

In the situation that Rantanen is in there, there's a 0% chance I'm dexterous enough to kick that effectively...I drop to a knee and bat it out with my hand...

I imagine my first thought would be to step on it and try to move that way. That most likely ends with my feet shooting out from under me and either getting a conky or knocking four front teeth out.

16. One story about Vrana: the Washington Capitals woke up on June 5, 2018, with a 3–1 lead in the Stanley Cup Final. There were two days off before Game 5, and all regulars were excused from practice. Vrana was the only one to skate. I asked him why. He said it was because he needed to practise scoring. He was 12 games without a goal at that time. Vrana then scored the first goal of the Cup-clinching Game 5. It’s always about that extra edge.

At what point do you just nix the Canucks' participation in the current NHL season?

https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/nh ... VxyHcz3mcw
J.T. Miller said he has skated a couple of times over the last few weeks.

"My lungs are screaming and I'm definitely not in game shape," he said. "I can't imagine what these guys [who were sick] are going to have to go through.

"I never thought I would be in this scenario. It's not ideal for anybody. We have a job to do, I guess."

I’d pull the plug on them. Sorry folks, season is cancelled. The Canuck out front should have told you
