Huh what?

I wasn’t expecting him to be put on waivers directly after the trade. Was that a known thing?

I'm sure part of the negotiation was "you gotta get this dead weight off our hands"

I love the Yotes RR but it really bothered me that they didn't at least wear the Kachina gloves. Those Phoenix reverse retros are heinous. And they didn't even have matching gloves. Wore their regular red and blacks.

Canadians waive Paul Byron. How often to alternate captains get waived?

Why would you trade guys for someone that you could have claimed off waivers? It's not like a big cap traded for a big cap.

@SprongFan1 right here liked Chucky. He’s a complete lunkhead and can’t be trusted to do anything important. But we were shy on skill last year, and you can be a wing in the NHL and have rocks for brains if you have balance on the other side.
Sully’s not aware that he relied on one of these lunkhead wings for 2 out of 2 of his cups. Not that Chucky is close to prime Kessel, but they’re both uncoachable weirdos. I wish he had a little more flexibility with this area...or just in general.

No fee...so it saves a few bucks (probably like $20,000 or something small)...he cleared waivers, so there's built-in flexibility (if you've been tracking the waiver activity, it's prepping for late season cap space in a small arena)...if they claim him, they'd have to re-waive him to send him down to the taxi squad, they lose that leverage...
Also, as a bonus, they free up a contract spot...they net -1 contracts with this move, instead of +1 if they had done it the other way...
