I'd love to know why a Swedish hockey team was named after North American Indians...

Hedman, still decent. Varlamov has to chill with these Fleury-esque rebounds

I think maybe meow said it here...a lot of Varly's issues are just a lack of focus and follow through...from his glove mechanics to how he handles pucks directly in front of him...it just seems like he's not always dialed in...look at how he handles pucks that sit within stick and glove reach just lying on the floor near him? He sits there and babysit them...meow, did you try to pounce or stick away loose discs near you, or did you sit there and try to squarely sing them a lullaby like Varly opts to...?

I blame Germans! More precisely, the fact that they made Karl May one of the most popular writers in European history.
Just google "Winnetou" (especially "Treasure of the Silver Lake") - and you will see why Indians are super-popular in Europe. Don't know whether @Gaucho agrees, but I think every European boy growing up in 1970s-90s (and maybe beyond) wanted to be "the Apache chief"

I’m not super happy about the Ning, but still least it’s not the Isles, Flyers or Caps
Stars obviously are underdogs going into game 1 but I hoe they can pull it off

That's an interesting theory, and a good one. I didn't know May was that popular outisde of Germany. I read a lot of his books when I was a kid and I especially loved those about Kara Ben Nemsi and Hadschi Halef Omar Ben Hadschi Abbul Abbas Ibn Hadschi Dawud al Gossarah. It's amazing that I still remember that full name but can't remember the name of the main character in the last novel I read. Ok, that's a lie, it's Hal Bregg, but still...I'd love to know why a Swedish hockey team was named after North American Indians...

The Wild are not re-signing captain Mikko Koivu, so he’ll be a UFA.

Yeah I've been seeing that for a few weeks, unofficially. Billy finally had the stones to say it today

Expected but a huge improvement over that 3D mess they've been using for far too long.
Comparison with the last 2d logo with the biggest change being the red outline of the wings/cape/whatever changed to gold.

Huh now that you mention it the red outline on the old one seems out of place

Looks like they went with an ever-so-slightly darker shade of gold

By the way, the Sens jerseys already leaked, though in the form of a women's fanatics jersey.

I don't know why Adidas/Fanatics did women so dirty with their jerseys. They're a mess.
