HC Kladno just announced that Jagr will for sure miss the Wednesday's game. Once that happens, the team will have to lose at least one play-off game to make Jagr eligible to play in the promotion/relegation tournament. (Of course, the team has to actually win two play-off series to get to that tournament).
The coach of HC Kladno with a rather scary quote: "...Jagr is 'Mr. Hockey Player' and he will help us in all those difficult games a lot. Whether it will be tomorrow, in one week, or in 14 days, that remains to be seen."

I knew three versions of my grandfather.
1. My grandfather
2. My grandfather after one of his sons died
3. My grandfather after one of his daughters (my mother) died
He went from the most cheerful positive man I knew, to a shell of himself, to a shell of a shell of himself.

Just terrible--my condolences to you too, meow. The thought of losing my daughter literally brings me to my knees. I am terrified as to what would happen to me, because I readily admit I might not have the mental fortitude to deal with it.

Mom is 81 and father turns 82 on Tuesday: I miss my grandparents, but I’ve largely been insulated from death. Lucky, it seems.

Heh, a former student of mine - who interned with the Florida Panthers and got a PR job with the Seahawks (and has a Super Bowl ring as well) has accepted a similar position with the Seattle NHL franchise.
