The game simply changes when the playoffs start. They let players play, and guys put more on the line, take the body more, sell out on shot blocks more, etc.

I think that gap is widening which is why you're seeing it more

You wear a patch to either honor something/somebody or commemorate an achievement. The SCF patch has existed since 1989 when jersey sales barely existed. Like the SCF logo on the ice or later the SCF wordmark inside the blueline, it's just done to make the Final feel special. And now, like the wordmark on the ice, it's being **** over for advertising money. Is it a huge deal in the grand scheme of things? No but it's still a bummer.
