CEC is hosting a pre-tournament doubleheader in September. Might be kinda cool to go see!

Lots of good seats available. Not sure the time to pre-sale them to Pens STH's was in the midst of the ECF. But I'll buy 2 because McDavid.

I ended up having to go extra old school and calling the Pens for tickets. They said they hadn't heard of any issues.

By calling the Pens, did you get to bypass the Ticketmaster fees?

Source of the post Olli Määttä (Pittsburgh/NHL),
Why?

He's still recovering from surgery and cancer, is in a deep cup run where he as looked exhausted, has to spend part of the summer in the Finnish Army, and now his summer is getting shortened for this?

In hockey circles - is it a given that Vlasic has a spot 100/100 times over say a Letang? Or is that debatable?

Is it a style thing, Vlasic fits better at the 2nd, 3rd shut down pairing versus an guy like Letang?

Watching these first two games, I just don't get it.

From what I've heard, it's a handedness issue. They have Burns, Weber, Doughty, and Pietrangelo who are all RHD. Then they have Keith and Muzzin as their LHD. If you don't want to put a RHD on their off-side, you need another lefty.

I mean, they also passed up Subban, and Weber didn't exactly light the world on fire, so meowshrug.jpg.

Vlasic has not been amazing in these playoffs. But he's as good of a defensive defenseman as there is in the league. He's so smart out there. But yeah, it's really handedness. PK Subban and Kris Letang don't get to play because they have better players on the right.

Now, whether Jake Muzzin belongs there is another story...

Is it wrong that Letang isn't there? No. If he was there, would that be wrong? No.

Muzzin was drafted by the Pens in the 75th round and they didn't sign him because of an injury? I just can't remember.

What is Russia playing at including Voynov on their roster? They are trying to compare it to Dany Heatley in the 2004 World Cup, but to my recollection he was not under an active NHL suspension at the time.

Kessel should tell them to go pound sand. He's not a replacement for Callahan...Dustin Brown is...maybe Dustin Brown can captain them...

I was thinking he should tell Team USA to kiss his Stanley Cup winning butt. But this works as well.

Well, if Murray or Fleury got hurt, it would settle the goaltending debate. :P
