I'm holding out for Bonino.

A week ago, he was...? I don't think that was in question. He gave the Flyers no hope, and the Penguins had to rely on deflections and back bounces to score on him. It took a bit in the series to really start shooting pucks past him...obviously, he'll come off of it now, as he won't be in the playoffs any longer...
Didn't even notice the date on there. My bad.

When does Matt Murray start getting consideration?

He's on the radar for it. I'm not sure if he'll be top 5 when I put out a new list tonight. But he's on the radar.

They're the most impactful players on the ice...the guys on that list play the entire sheet...for half the game...

Refs play the whole game and have the only impact that matters.

if TB wins this series (and the Cup) Vasilevskiy will have to be entering that list.

There is basically no chance of that. Has a goalie ever won a Conn Smythe with so few starts...? And even if that were true, Jake Allen is gonna be in a similar situation...
If the media can't give Jagr or Crosby a Hart for missing 25% of a regular season...they surely can't give a Conn Smythe for missing 65% of the playoffs or whatever it will be...

Heading into the finals.
If Sharks win:
1. Pavelski
2. Burns
3. Jones
If Pens win:
1. Kessel
2. Murray
3. Letang
??
Haven't watched a single Sharks game in these playoffs.

if one of those or others take over the Final (such as Thornton/Marleau/Crosby/Malkin) they could easily jump over others to the top.

I was going to laugh at the Murray reachers but a quick glance reminded me that Tim Thomas and Cam Ward each have one, so, yeah.
If the Pens win and it can't go to Kessel I'd prefer it go to Crosby, you know, GWGs n'at. That's provided he has an impactful SCF.
Maybe they'll give it to Pavelski either way.

You're half-joking but it certainly could happen if Pens would win but no one player stood out. Even 2008, Crosby tied Zetterberg in points but it went to Zetterberg because his team won. Pavelski is so far ahead of Kessel in points that no Pen may get close.
Maybe they'll give it to Pavelski either way.

Pavelski is interesting because he is at least in the running for possibly the second ever loser skater to win the thing (Reggie Leach in 1976 scored 19 goals in the playoffs, still a record)...
He's at 13 goals right now, and while 19 is probably not in reach with a Penguins win, there has only been one 15+ goal playoffs in the last 20 years (Sidney Crosby, 15, in 2009). There has only been 20 all time. Though, of course, there were only two rounds for much of the time between 1910-1966.

Is that because there was originally only six teams?

Yeah, there's nothing original or six about the original six...

Existing Six would have been a more apt moniker, compared to the Expansion Six...
