Whats the word on Stamkos? I've heard that TB wants to have an extension in place by July. Any idea what he could be making per season?

I'd wager somewhere close to Ovechkin/Kane/Toews money. Between 9 and 11 mil, depending on where the cap lies.

Probably the same reason TSN had Roberto Luongo on a few times, and I think Ryan Miller did something similar.

But more to your point, I have no idea why they picked Shawn Thornton of all people.

Probably the best broadcasting duo in the league, Ralph and Razor, are no more. Ralph Strangis is moving on...the duo - so popular in Dallas that they are not only the team on TV, but they are also simulcast on the radio - has been broadcasting Stars games together since 1996. Strangis, once a contestant who won money in the popular 80's game show "Press Your Luck" and blew the winnings mostly on blow, moved with the franchise from the color commentator position in Minnesota with the North Stars way back when...

McKenzie reporting "big change" coming to the Oilers.

Rumor is they hired Peter Chiarelli for a front-office position (don't think this is the big change, though).

Sharks received permission to interview Randy Carlyle.

So much for the "Sharks will hire Dan Bylsma asap" rumor floating around...

GM and President, MacTavish learns his fate this week.

Great move for the Oilers. Chiarelli was good at getting a team fixed and run his course in Boston like Shero did here. He will have the clout and courage to make some big moves with the younger guys.

So I completely forgot that Tlusty was traded to the Jets, he must of had no impact whatsoever.

He did not. Spent time on the fourth line as the season ended...I guess that explains the discount price at the deadline...they knew better than me once again...

NBC announcer just described the Isles' defense as being "decimated" by injuries. Hamonic & Visnovsky are good, but decimated?

Kris Letang misses out as Norris Trophy finalist. Drew Doughty, Erik Karlsson and P.K. Subban get the nod.

I can understand that. Figuring out how Fleury isn't a top 3 goalie this year will take a while though.

Doughty didn't even really have that good of a year, by his standards, AIUI.
