Maybe this is the year that a puck over the glass penalty costs a team the cup and they finally fix this rule.
Mistakes usually do cost teams wins.
Usually, but not always.

Explain the logic in this.

You punish someone with a minor penalty for a mistake they made while trying to clear a puck. Meanwhile you ice the puck on purpose - achieving the same result - and there’s no penalty.

Snap out of it. This is a dumb rule with an expiration date. They’re just waiting for it to become a thing before they act on it for some reason.

A goalie can come out and stop an icing and quick up it. A defenseman can flag it down at the line. There are a lot of different scenarios that can play out with icings. Letting a dude fire it into the crowd doesn't give the opposing team an opportunity it influence the play.

I guess that’s technically logic. But it’s a small tactical gain with a large punishment. That’s a problem. The lack of a line change is the closest we have to a deserving punishment. Just because you want more doesn’t mean it’s appropriate to tack on THAT much more. Go to the closest punishment and stick with that. It’s not price is right rules. You can go over.

@Tomas

Little help from you if you get a free minute, if you please...

- Best pronunciation of Pavel Francouz?
- You hear anything about the Czech junior leagues? They went like U20 and U18 to just U19, and then added a U17? Then changed it again, I think...? Probably not in your wheelhouse, but just curious if you happened to know what's going on with that and why? I'll assume they're manipulating things to keep kids from leaving so soon...but, I'm not sure if there's more at hand...

Just call him "Paul French" (because that's what it means) and be done with it! :D

"PAH-vel FRAN-tsowz"

He introduces himself at 0:20 mark:

BTW, 2 years @40 minutes / day - and you will not have to ask me any Czech-related questions! :lol:

Don't know much about Czech junior leagues, other than there is currently no Czech junior league played due to a huge legal scandal:

7 year extension for Faulk at $6.5MM per year.

Not sure getting Marleau from the Leafs for a not top ten first round pick was the best move for the Canes.
