Edmonton traded Ryan Strome to the Rangers for Ryan Spooner.

Good thing they gave up Eberle for Strome.

Arizona’s Josh Archibald has been suspended for two games for an illegal check to the head on Nashville’s Ryan Hartman.

Oilers get a little faster...Strome is not something I would refer to as speedy...

Pierre LeBrun@PierreVLeBrun
Brayden Point now with 14 goals on the season, tied for 2nd in the NHL. One of the many high-end RFAs this summer needing second contracts, joining the likes of Rantonen, Matthews, Marner, Aho, Boeser, Laine, Connor, M. Tkachuk, Werenski...

Going to be fascinating. That second contract for high-end players becoming a real battle ground between teams/agents

Had an agent recently who predicted to me we might have three Nylander situations next fall.

Brayden Point just asked on Friday if he could see our locker room here and then goes out and torches the Flyers for me. What a beaut.

My hero Peter Forsberg claims that he has played his entire career with only 60 % sight on his right eye :o

Perhaps it is common knowledge but it was new to me...

Anyone know if Toronto has given other teams permission to talk to Nylander's agent?

He is a restricted free agent. My understand is he doesn't need permission.

That's correct. He is eligible to be offer sheeted.

Offer sheets are one thing. Talking to a player about contract with intent to trade for him if the terms are agreeable is another.

I have an answer for this, but I can't say it in a public forum with my name attached to it.

"They aren't exactly there." - that's what I'll respond with.

I haven't seen the Trocheck injury nor do I want to. Saw a deadspin article that had him on a stretcher saying his leg bent several ways it isn't supposed to. That's a whole lotta nope.

It wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be based on some reactions. Still bad, though.
