So either kick the puck or defy physics with a backwards stopping motion. Hmmm...if only there was a 3rd option where he just stopped normally and didn't clearly kick the puck into the goal.was he supposed to move his feet backwards to stop?Despite the whole thing about the forward trajectory of his foot propelling the puck into the net.Hossa was stopping, not kicking.

Ya know who is bad and always has been bad and will continue to be bad...? Johnny Oduya...he is a turd in the water supply for what has been a very successful team over the years...he somehow gets away with it...good for him I guess...

Really thought the Ducks had the horses to go all the way this year. At least Teemu won his Cup

In other news, I am now a perfect 14-0 in my Stanley Cup playoffs series pool, including correctly predicting TB in 7 and CHI in 7 (both on the road, mind you). I've already had far and away the best streak in the history of the pool, but damn it I want to do the unthinkable and go 15-0. Pretty torn, but leaning Hawks in 6.

I should have said when instead of if, I didn't mean to imply he hasn't put up those kinds of numbers in a series yet."If"? It happened. But we made it to the 2nd round.Yeah, this.I hate to say it, but Crosby is pretty darn clutch actually. The toughest critics of Crosby's playoff performances are the insatiable side of this fanbase...
Toews had one unbelievable postseason in 2010. Even then I recall him being shut down in the finals by Philly. The rest have ranged from very poor to very good. When they won the Cup in 2013 he had 3 goals, 11 assists, and was a straight up liability a good portion of the time. If Crosby ever put up those kinds of numbers we'd be out in the first round.
The last time anyone would have described playoff Crosby as clutch, it was 2010 after the Ottawa series. People here are harder on him than the general public, but Mikey's take on things comes complete with a time machine.
He had a good series against NYR (not "clutch" but very good). That's something to grow on, because it had been a long while since his trajectory went the right way when games mattered.
His play was very good in '13 in the first two series but I feel like we've been down this road (eg the competition) before so I won't rehash it. I agree with you for the most part, my main gripe was just that Toews has an untouchable clutch label because his awesome team is able to cover up for him whenever he does have an off series. Off the top of my head, the only two series we've won when Crosby has been below PPG is Columbus and Detroit. Toews has a luxury that most great players don't, and it affords him more opportunities to be clutch, which he's done a great job capitalizing on a good portion of the time.

Every team that won their series also won the regular season match-up:

So Mats Zuccarello's "upper body injury" is pretty damn terrifying. Fractured skull, brain contusion, blood in brain, could not move his arm, lost the ability to speak for three days and remains in speech therapy.
