Shaw slashes stick out of PKer's hand. 4 on 4 for 44 seconds.

At least it was a clean game-winner. Don't often get those in a 3OT game.

This series was 3-1 the minute the plane took off from Nashville without Shea Weber.

They had a graphic where they showed their record with him and their record without him. I don't remember the numbers, but the without him record was very poor.

after seeing that goal, my faith in the NHL's viability has been restored, at least for a couple minutes.

Seemed like Winnipeg was the popular choice for the dark horse / upset these batch of series...

Huh. I'm gonna give all credit to Despres to pushing the Ducks past the Jets.

Really? I don't know anyone who thought Winnipeg had much of a chance...among my group, they were the popular choice to be swept...i gave them a game because I thought the crowd would will them to a game 3 win...but that giant ****head cost him and all of Canada a win, plus much of their supermarkets' inventory...fat jackass...

I just felt like Anaheim was the weakest high seed. They don't really have a playoff history, their defense is very offensively-oriented (and young), and they have questionable goaltending (that is, again, young). Yeah, Getzlaf/Perry & Kesler/Silfverberg are good, but would you trust any of their other forwards?

I thought the high of Winnipeg being back in the playoffs would give them an energy / desperation that Anaheim'd find too hard to match. *Shrug* I guess I'm wrong (as of now).

Also, please tell me how you really feel about Byfuglien  - I 100% agree (and really want a bigger penalty for his stupid post-goal penalties, but that's a different discussion).

I didn't trust the Jets. Not enough scoring.

If "high seeds" are just the 1s and 2s, I think the Rangers were the weakest of the four. Depth is good in the regular season but you need skill in the playoffs. They aren't exactly exploding with skill in their forwards.

Agree with both of the above posts (Avyran and RCOJ). Was really hoping the Jets would make something of this.

That being said, it's so hard pulling for a team with Buttfuglyien on the ice.

They may be in the playoffs, but the Jets are very much still the Thrashers.

Really proud of that crowd. Stayed cheering through the handshake line. Great site.

Really great...that was a beautiful sight to end that game there, it's a shame it didn't go better for them, a real shame they didn't at least win game 3 for them, but...the emotion that you get from watching that on TV is palpable, I can't imagine being a fan and being there and being a part of that...

because they have too much leftover low-end talent from when the Thrashers owners instructed the GM to go as cheap as possible.
on another note let me just say how happy I am to see this franchise go to 0-8 in the playoffs.
I speak for Thrashers fans everywhere when I say:

I certainly thought the Jets had a chance. Pavelec played well down the stretch and the Ducks top line was basically butt for the final two weeks (albeit some rest days sprinkled in there). Ducks depth still isn't great in my opinion, so I thought without the top line clicking they could be in trouble. The second line really came through, though. Silfverberg looked like the player many thought he might be over the final couple months.

No, you've just been conditioned by Pens management for too long to believe that the only way to win in the playoffs is with a ton of experienced grizzled vets. :P

What does it mean that the Rangers became good as soon as they traded Callahan and Dubinsky? I think it means "leadership" is overrated, but what do I know.
