The Yosuda bike is on sale on woot for $250 today. Just an FYI for anyone.

We got the echelon bike from walmart over the holiday deals. My wife seems to like it. I have yet to try it out, but it comes with 6 free months of classes.
I almost pulled the trigger on that Woot bike yesterday but after doing some research decided to go with this one:

I was convinced after reading reviews watching this video on DYI Peloton:

a friend laid out $1000 for the Bowflex C6. looks like a nice bike but I'm not sure it's worth the $600 difference.

My Yosuda has been in daily use since July or so and it's been rock solid for me. No complaints so far.

I know we've talked about this before briefly... Those of you with heart rate trackers, what is your typical RHR? Mine is normally between 43 and 47.

When I was at my peak physical condition it was 50-53 or so, Covid has gotten me off track a bit and it generally is between 55-57 or so most days now. It's still good, but I'm not where I was pre-covid... slowly working my way back.

A year ago it was in the high 60s to low 70s. Now it's in the high 50s, maybe 58 or so when completely at rest.

Same, mid-50s lately. In the 40s when not a fat ****.

My average resting heart rate for the past month has been 59. 54 for the past year with a low of 50 for the month of July. Beach vacation, bone cyst in my foot that prevented me from running, and going all Kevin Malone during my wife’s pregnancy has upped my weight about 20 to 25 lbs from that point.

Since you’re the expert on this thing,

1.) What’s a good pace/distance goal for a 30 minute session? Did 9.4 miles in 30 minutes today but have no previous biking experience to compare that to.

2.) Did you purchase an extra seat pad or anything like that? 30 minute ride and my nuts are crushed and my dadhole feels like it’s been rearranged.

I'd bought a cushier seat for my bicycle years ago, and I put that on the Yosuda when I got it in. I think it's a Schwinn seat. Better than the one that came with the exercise bike, that's for sure. I also bought a couple pairs of "BALEAF" padded bike shorts (I'm thinking that name is actually short for "ball relief"). Couple those two and my fat butt can ride for more than 30 minutes without any significant numbing or pain. Not sure if there are better shorts out there. I bought those because they come in big sizes.

Honestly, anything under 60 is pretty damn solid. There are some mornings when I wake up and my heart rate over the previous few hours was like 38. Freaks my wife out.

Mine still dips into the mid 40's when I'm sleeping some nights. I've definitely seen my RHR increase though as I got more out of shape. Just motivation to get back to where I was (as well as going from a size 32 to size 34 in Jeans after not wearing any since march ha.)

$20 for ball relief seems like a win.

Shyster's seat pad seems like a good option, I've just gotten use to the hard ride. It was the same on my old stationary bike.

Pace wise I haven't really paid attention to be honest. I just track it on my garmin watch and let it do it's thing. I don't think I've ever really looked at the screen on the thing as it's pretty basic (at least the one I have). I'll have to watch the next time I ride.

that one's a Wissota. it hasn't been used though since I got the Sparx which is behind the bike on the outer hearth of the unused fireplace.

Olympic weight plates remain a fitness gear unicorn. Really annoying at this point. It’s been months.

Yes. I wanted a pair of 45s to leave on my hex bar. Turns out my wife likes using the hex bar for push-ups so it doesn't matter now anyway. Problem solved.

Also, my treadmill broke. Really hoping it's just the frayed wire I should have replaced when we moved. It's overheating at 1.5mi and shutting off completely. I don't want to buy a new treadmill.

Weighed myself yesterday and saw my first below-210 reading. Now down roughly 55 lbs over the last year.

I want a hex bar and I want to be able to put things on it. There’s no point to a naked hex bar.

Yeah, there are better ways of doing push-ups with grips. But it's a home gym and economy of equipment is a consideration.

If you can't fix it, I have a treadmill in my basement that I'm not using. It's a Pro-Form 385C.
