Mine did not adjust automatically. I had to go in and manually reset it by telling it my weight loss goal and it would then update. Mine is currently set to 2020 cal/day, but I'm typically about 1800. I completely ignore the exercise number. It's linked to my fitbit and it wayyyyy over estimates calories burned per day. I'm in quite a plateau right now. Been at 207 for a couple weeks and still only taking in about 1800 cal a day. I'm sure a woosh is coming soon, but man it sucks that I'm sticking to my diet and the numbers aren't going down, but trust the system. It will work its way out.

Yeah. That's the hardest part of all this for me. Waiting for the body to 're-calibrate' and start losing again. I hit a plateau really early in my loss this time but I think I'm pushing through it.

I just bought the Garmin scale I've had my eye on for the last year or so. The Garmin forums seem to say that they have fixed the MFP sync'ing issue so I'm going to give it a go.

Anyone have a smart scale they like and trust? Most of the reviews for the ones I want to buy end up saying that they love the features but the weight readings are regularly inaccurate. Kind of defeats the point.

Had to step on my scale three times today to get it to read what I thought was an accurate and duplicate reading. I think it's tired of my ****.
That's weird. I have a Nokia scale and I have to do the same thing with it. I usually end up taking three readings and use the middle one for reference.

My readings were way off. Was 275, 282, then I got it to duplicate at 285 which is where I should be. I've had it for several years and it has been getting flakier so I'm going to give the Garmin a shot.

a 1% variance is nearly three pounds for me so I need it to be on point.

mine probably wasn't that bad, maybe 3-4 lbs total. I always thought it was how I stood on the scale. I was wondering if I was standing maybe too far forward, too far back, am I not centered?

I'll have to keep a closer eye on it now.

I ease onto it. Don't want to startle the poor thing.

I learned a shot of Tito's vodka is 60 calories. Served with sparkling spring water, instead of tonic water, and you've got a refreshing and nominal calorie drink.
Tito’s and sparkling ice lemonade is good.

Started using the Garmin Index scale this morning. Tested it against my old scale and there was only a 0.27% difference, or .8lbs on 291 so that seems reasonable.

I already use the Garmin Connect App because I've been using Garmin run watches since 2010. It made the setup a breeze. Connected to the scale with Bluetooth on my phone, opened the Garmin app and added the device. My height/weight/age/etc. were already in the system so that was easy. Once added I could give the scale the Wifi network and password and it doesn't need to talk to the phone directly anymore.

Stepped on it this morning and it captured my metrics and sent it to the Garmin database. It then sent my weight over to MyFitnessPal. Then Garmin sent my weight to my watch sync'ing program so next time the watch syncs it will update my weight in my user profile, so no more fiddling with that.

It was really easy to add my wife as well since she is a GC user. It will support up to 15 users.

It captures:
Weight
BMI
BF%
Body Water %
Skeletal Muscle Mass
Bone Mass.

It will be interesting to track all of this over time. Was surprised to see that my bone mass (minus bone water) is only 16 pounds. I think, psychologically, I'll get the most out of seeing how much of my mass is water; when I have a relatively high (or low) weight day that's going against the trend I can verify that it is indeed water fluxing up and down.

I love data, wish I had pulled the trigger sooner. But they GC/MFP integration was broken until recently so I'm not sure it would've mattered. All of these metrics are saved and tracked in Garmin Connect so I can monitor it over time from the web interface or the app. Very cool.

That is another milestone and a reminder it's a marathon not a Sprint lol.

Also i use Garmin connect as well is there a way to share stuff on there between users?

You murder me on the leaderboard thing though. I think because you use a step counter and I don't. It doesn't even count my running steps which is kind of weird.

Lol, I do. I did an absurd 22k steps yesterday (11.7 miles). About half of which were on the golf course when I was walking all over God's creation chasing my ball

as much as I wanted to laugh at this yesterday, I ended up shooting a 57 through 9. Thankfully we were only doing a 9. If we were doing an 18, I may have walked off.

I'm 99% sure 1/3 of those strokes were from putts that rolled the cup.

I shot 113 on Saturday. First time playing in a year, easily the worst I've ever played. And the worst thing is I only lost one ball

I sliced one two fairways over on the longest hole on the course. Went about 180-190 and took a hard, hard right.

Had their been a third fairway that ran parallel, it may have cleared that one too.

This week is my vacation for the summer. Mostly we’re just visiting family with the newborn. Man, it’s killing my diet. I really don’t care though. Completely worth it.

Our neighbors just got back from vacation with their first newborn. They said it stops being a vacation and becomes more of a trip.

We were on vacation Tuesday thru today in Niagara falls and Toronto. I ate all the foods at all the places. So worth it. Not stepping on a scale for a week.

So much salty food(and massive quantities in general) the water retention is absurd. Walked an average of 8 miles a day but between the salty food and the heat I am retaining water like crazy. Soooooo bloated.
